Welcome to National Blog Posting Month!

National Blog Posting Month is the epicenter of daily blogging! People who want to set the habit of blogging by doing it every day for a month, including weekends, can come here for moral support, inspiration, and the camaraderie that only marathon blogging can provide.

If you'd like to get started, just sign in or sign up in the box on the right that says "Welcome to NaBloPoMo." Then you can set up your profile and explore the site to see what NaBlo offers and who else is here.

Click the FAQ tab for a basic explanation of how things work and how to get on this month's blogroll, and if you have any questions or concerns feel free to drop an e-mail to nablopomo@gmail.com.

Welcome!

P.S. You must be a blogger to join NaBloPoMo. Sorry to be a meanie but people found adding commercial posts, recruiting information, graphic adult material, spam, or plagiarized work to profiles, groups, or forums will be banned.

Woo Hoo! I Ran Today

I'm fresh off my first day of the C25K program, as in I just got home from the track and I wanted to write this post before I lost my endorphin high. When I first arrived at the track, I was a little intimidated for a variety of reasons:

~ I haven't run in over 13 years
~ I live in the woods, there are wild animals, y'all
~ I didn't want anyone looking at me (Vanity, thy name is Daenel)

So I said a quick prayer that I wouldn't collapse into a quivering heap on the ground and get dragged off in… Continue

We're Moving!

This is from my personal blog, Certain Caesura.

We've been hearing for a while now that Rocket Man will be changing positions at work and that it will require a move on our part. Since Houston is not Rocket Man's nor my hometown, this is fine with us.

That being said, this time will be much harder than the last

Job Title: Author

I am a little hesitant to say anything, but what the heck. Are we not in the blogosphere to put our words across? To make our voice heard? Do we not take that giant leap of faith in thinking that someone might possibly have some little interest in the things rolling around our heads and what conceivably falls out? Yeah, something like that. I do not have readers falling all over me, but I know there are a few of you who wander by my page to see what interestin

Our Catholic Book Club

At last night's meeting of our parish's Catholic Book Club, we discussed the fact that next month will mark our first anniversary. A year in operation and still going strong! That's better than other book clubs I've belonged to, and I'm proud of us.

We've ranged from a high of 12 to a low of 3 at meetings, and we have a solid core of 5, including our pastor, Father Cicero, who is a committed and enthusiastic member. We've read books that we otherwise would never have picked u

Eat Your Greens

Remember those postcards I bought last week? Well, I found a suitable frame (used to have some Harry Potter postcards in) and popped them in this afternoon. Yes, I know the cupboard won't open now!Continue

Bring Me Sunshine...

Oh my gosh, I won an award! And what’s more, it’s an award from one reader to another – in my eyes, far more important than the kind given by anonymous panels! Oh

Doctor's Report

I had an appointment at the health centre in the building I used to work today as a follow-up from last summer, and he's pleased to see that my X-rays seem to be clear, though they're still waiting to be examined further by a radiologist. The encouragement to stay on the diet where if you're enjoying your life you're doing it wrong still stands, but he says that if nothing's visible after half a

Marco Polo

We have a pool. Sometimes I hear, “Marco!“

I was wondering this afternoon what about Marco Polo inspired his name’s being used in this way.

I wouldn’t know. The only thing I remember from my seventh-grade social studies lesson on the explorer is that he’s from Venice.

Here’s why I remember that.

Mr. Snodgress — the one who made us color maps – told us that Marco Polo suffered a terrible injury to his eyes.

And that after that he was a Venitian blind.

Musings on the 2010 Oscar nominations

Well, the biggest day of the movie biz has arrived, where the words ’snubbed’ or ‘robbed’ become a staple around cinephiles and those who give a hoot about what the Academy thinks. Anne Hathaway revealed the nominees of the 82nd Oscar Tuesday morning, and for the first time we have 10 Best Picture nominations instead of 5.

I didn’t bother making predictions because for one, I’ve only seen half of the movies nominated, so that hardly makes me a good judge. I’m going to make i

One thing I have noticed about Martha's calendar is all the things she puts down to do like cleaning draws and gutters and I am sure she does some but I also think of the amount of staff she has. Sometimes I am going around trying to get things done…
