Welcome to National Blog Posting Month!

National Blog Posting Month is the epicenter of daily blogging! People who want to set the habit of blogging by doing it every day for a month, including weekends, can come here for moral support, inspiration, and the camaraderie that only marathon blogging can provide.

If you'd like to get started, just sign in or sign up in the box on the right that says "Welcome to NaBloPoMo." Then you can set up your profile and explore the site to see what NaBlo offers and who else is here.

Click the FAQ tab for a basic explanation of how things work and how to get on this month's blogroll, and if you have any questions or concerns feel free to drop an e-mail to nablopomo@gmail.com.

Welcome!

P.S. You must be a blogger to join NaBloPoMo. Sorry to be a meanie but people found adding commercial, recruiting, or graphic adult material to profiles, groups, or forums will be banned.

The Weaning Process

Though I had nursed Jeri, Ned and Paul, I never actually had to deal with weaning until Tom came along.

I had gone to La Leche League classes when Jeri was expected and had all these wonderful images in my mind of letting her wean, continuing to let her nurse well into her second year. But she was always the independent sort and decided on her own at 9 months of age that it was time to graduate to milk in a cup. I knew all the theory about how to gently wean a baby when Mom was read to stop nur… Continue

Triskidecaphobic - Not Me, But Others, Hell Yes!

Yesterday was Friday the 13th and unlike many people it just doesn't phase me. I believe in the power of a full moon, as a matter of fact I have witnesses it more than once on a first hand case and almost monthly at school. But a fear of the number 13, I don't get it. Perhaps it is because I was born on a Friday the 13th. As a matter of fact I have found it to be a rather lucky day.
I may not have a fear of the number 13, but I do have my fears and phobias.
Spiders - for years and years t… Continue

Jonesing for a bagel fix

I think it's going to be a fun-filled day. There's a weird little art festival in Covington that my mom wants us to go to, plus, Boy-Creature has been foaming at the mouth to go see "A Serious Man" and it's playing in Hammond. So there will be actual things done today! Very exciting. Maybe I'll take pictures or something. As proof that I actually go out and do things sometimes, it's not all just knitting and reading books.

But first, we need bagels.

A blog a day must keep something away

I have been blogging every day like a good girl. Today is the 14th . I am almost half way through the month.
Today I blogged about our garden and posted some pretty pictures of our love birds and plants.
Since I live in the Caribbean, a very pretty tropical part of the world, I am always lucky to have lots of pictures I can take and post.
Take a look if you want.

"Being Present--Inspite Of"

Gospel
Lk 18:1-8

Jesus told his disciples a parable
about the necessity for them to pray always without becoming weary.
He said, “There was a judge in a certain town
who neither feared God nor respected any human being.
And a widow in that town used to come to him and say,
‘Render a just decision for me against my adversary.’
For a long time the judge was unwilling, but eventually he thought,
‘While it is true that I neither fear God nor respect any human being,
because this widow keeps botheri… Continue

Wife Swap

From their earliest incarnations, I was sucked in by the "reality" series genre in which two families trade mothers for a couple of weeks. In order to heighten the drama, the selected families must be not mere diametric opposites, but so different as to defy the laws of probability. We have seen rock and roll families v. fundamentalist Christian families, orthodox Jewish family v. redneck hillbilly families, vegetarian v. carnivorous families, and (most frequently) disciplined/ultra-neat/rigid fa… Continue
