Are there any others trying to do both NaNoWrimo and NaBloPomo? I did NaNoWriMo last year and I felt really accomplished so I'm trying it again this year. I heard about NaBloPoMo and said, "Why not?"
I don't really have an idea for my book, so November should be interesting.
In a moment of absolute insanity last night, I decided I was doing both...in fact, I crawled out of bed to grab my notebook because I had ideas for my novel...I hate writing so the whole NaNoWriMo should be interesting...
Nice to know I'm not the only crazy one. I was actually considering doing both and then trying to record a song every day and post it on my blog. That would drive me insane though, so I'll just stick to the writing stuff.
I still need to come up with a stellar idea for NaNoWriMo. Last year, I wrote a satire of self help books and it was so easy to write because I could write about completely different topics everyday. Only one more day to come up with a book idea and begin the madness!
Courtney-
Are you doing it to make yourself enjoy writing or ? I'm just curious. I hate science-y type things and just to think about doing science stuff everyday for a month makes my brain wrinkle itself up in fear.
I guess I should've specified. I hate "real" writing. I love blogging, but I also don't consider blogging "real" writing. It's more of a dumping of my thoughts. Blogging comes easily to me, but there are things I avoid when blogging. Writing...well, even if I liked the topic when I was in school, getting a paper out of me was worse than pulling teeth...
I'm not doing NaNoWriMo to make myself enjoy writing. NaNoWriMo is more of the push I needed to write things down that I buried long ago, things that shouldn't be buried but should be shared...I may not end up with something that is "book" material, but at a minimum, it's blog material...

I'm considering doing both. I have an opening line which I can't get out of my head and a bunch of ideas that are rolling around for a play, so I figured NaNoWriMo would at least help me get them out. I'm not really feeling pressure to actually complete 50,000 words - maybe that's a mistake? Letting myself off the hook before I even start? Oh, well, a step in the right direction at least...better than the last two years that I signed myself up and then backed out without writing a single word.
I have so many things already scheduled for November (2 weekend trips, a retreat & Thanksgiving in addition to small farm & day job), so I figured, what the heck & signed up for both NaNoWriMo & NaBloPoMo. I have a detailed outline of a novel ready to go and I'm excited about the story, which should help keep me motivated. The way I look at it, my life is probably always going to be this hectic, so I might as well use November to work on "making" time to write in spite of life.
Totally glad there are so many others. My friends last year thought I was nuts for doing NaNo, and then did NaBlo as kind of a joke. Well, I'll show them. Good luck to everyone!!!

Uh, yes. Me too. Haven't ever done either of them before. Thought about it last year, but was travelling in November. Realised yesterday that NaNoWriMo was about to start and signed up for it. Saw NaBloPoMo mentioned on another blog, and signed up for that today. I think I may be crazy...
