Alright, this is a very quick and dirty tutorial on it. As a disclaimer, my theme may not be like yours so it might not work, and always make a copy of the file you're about to edit.

Let's say I want to put the "I'm a proud member of:" image above my RSS links.
So I start out by going into http://your-blog.com/wp-admin
Once I'm there, I click on Presentation, then select Theme Editor.
Now I'm presented with a edit box and a list of files on the right-side.
I choose sidebar.php and the it loads into the editor bar.

This image shows where it loads the RSS links in, so I know I need to put the embed code above that.

For my theme, it needs to be wrapped in a div. So I start it with a div then paste the code in and close the div. After a couple of checks, I add a br tag at the begining of the code so it's down a little bit but it shows up where I wanted it and will work.

thanks for the help...i did figure it out on my own but it did take about a month or so...see ya around tomorrow!

I've had the same problem for quite some time with Wordpress. Still, I love it there. They don't let you embed html code which makes for a lot of problems, but it will teach you to learn how to bend the rules a bit and come up with other solutions. Keep trying. Coming from a girl who spent four years on blogger before moving to Wordpress, I'd recommend Wordpress over Blogger anyday.
