Well the real "NaBloPoMo" is only November and this is the first year that there have been monthly topics for people to continuing blogging daily about. A lot of people probably just lost momentum and with summer here, fewer and fewer people seem to be blogging daily anyway, especially not for nablopomo stuff. The boards have slowed down as a result, too.

Fair enough, QuirkyJessi. That would make sense. Here's to a speeding-up of the forums when autumn approaches, then! :)

Oh it will! Once October hits, people really start talking about signing up, why they're doing it, what happened last year, etc. I'm sure there will be a flurry of people here again by then.

Yea, autumn is more serious blogging season. I'm looking forward to it getting busy, but I also like the quieter atmosphere to ease into after a while of not blogging. It means I actually stand a chance of looking through all the blogs on the blogroll!

The forums are quiet because NaBloPoMo is not a year-round activity... it was originally done for one month. It has never been as popular as the first year it ran, and suffers from people doing it once, and never returning. At the moment, I'm guessing it will suffer from the move towards microblogging (Twitter).
