Another time, you hang out with that group because all of you are going to the party and need to find new dress or even accessories together....

God Can't Be Contained

The truth, of course, is that God cannot be contained. We recognize the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist, but that doesn't mean Christ is not everywhere presen… Continue

The casino story

Tonight at dinner my son’s girlfriend told us her parents went to Morongo casino with $500 and lost it all.

On the way out, her dad found a single dollar in his pocket. He put it in a machine and won $700.

I’m lucky too, kind of.

I have been in a casino once in my life. I was 14.

There was a family reunion in Lake Tahoe. My aunt Elsie, one of my grama’s sisters, was a gambler like nobody’s business. She dragged a bunch of people over the state line to Reno for an afternoon.

She, my grama, m… Continue

"Giving One's All"

Mark 6:53-56: I can identify with Jesus--being used to the point of
exhaustion. I am exhausted. People grabbing at me, expecting so much,
demanding so much. There is no resentment whatsoever, it is my
calling, and I am resting, and will begin again tomorrow, but the past
few days--so many people expecting so much, and I give all I can. Deo
Gratias! Thanks be to God!

Mamavation Monday

I don't know what's going on with me. When I started this program I was so highly motivated but now I'm finding myself sorta dragging. I think it's because I'm not seeing any changes in my body. I WANT TO SEE CHANGES! I'm glad I see the scale going down and I'm happy that the measuring tape is showing that *something* is happening but I want to see my jeans sagging. I want to see the belt get a little tighter. I want to see some muscles or something.

Please, for the love of pete, throw me a bon… Continue
