About Me:
I’m a born and bred Yankee, now transplanted and living down south.I escaped from my short career in television and was able to make a cross over to education, which I absolutely love.

Recently I began my journey of getting a Ph.D. It’s overwhelming, scary, stressful…and I reached that conclusion after 2 weeks. I'm studying communication - specifically new media and media effects

I have a boy, and we have lots of adventures together. I love to travel, read, watch college football and gymnastics, ski (although geography makes that tough), am somewhat of an amateur photographer.

I have two cats. I used to move a lot, but I’ve managed to settle down. I’m contemplating address lables. I’m a complete wiseass. I also have a dirty sense of humor.

Today I think I got to the “What the hell am I doing here?” phase that I’ve heard is so common. I’ve been reassured by numerous people in my
program that the first semester sucks, you have no clue what you are
doing, you screw up a lot, and you feel like a total idiot.

I don’t like feeling like an idiot.

They say, however, that it gets easier. You get a handle on things after the first semester. Most importantly, you can learn from ho

Last week I was very productive. I got about 3/4 of one paper done, made about a 10 page headway on another, and worked up data collection materials for
the third. I was hoping that momentum would carry over to this week.

So far, it has not. This is frustrating to me. In the grand scheme of things there is still plenty of time until the semester is over - but having spent too many nights during my M.A. program trying
to crank out papers at t

I’ll admit that I’m not the most fashion forward person in the world. My style can best be described as classic and comfortable. Right now, when I
don’t have to have my semi-professional teaching garb on, you can
usually find me in jeans and either a button down/t-shirt/sweater set
combo. I try not to look like I just rolled out of bed, but when all
I’m doing is writing and researching, I go for comfort.

There’s a new fad that I simply don’t

A day in pictures…yesterday we went to Auburn (and by “we” I mean me, my boy, Brian and my boy’s parents) for a fun filled (and victorious) day of football. I give you our day in pictures, because that’s just more fun.

Another under the wire post. But I’m tired.I could have blogged earlier in the
day…but we left so early that my post would have been “Woke up,
showered, brushed teeth. Leaving for Auburn”.

So now, with a couple minutes left in the day, and not enough time to upload pictures, I’m tired and going to bed.
