Stacy Alexander (Bayarts)

United States
Name or Pseudonym:
Bayarts
About Me:
Visual artist, writer, wearer of many hats! During this lifetime, I have worked as a cook, a caterer, an editor, a writer. I have been administrative coordinator of an art school, a painter, a teacher, a doer of yoga, a traveler, a travel writer, a free lance videographer, a photographer, a happy homebody and, in general, someone who bounces out of bed in the morning eager to see what life has to offer. I love being alive and experiencing new things. I love seeking healthful paths and educating myself about food and nutrition, about art history and art techniques, about different cultures and ways of life. I love to go to new places and see new things and I love to stay at home. No matter where I am, I try to make the best of it and to enjoy my life as much as I can. I have a great partner with whom I share my life...and I wonder what's next? There is always something new and exciting around every corner.

Hot! Hot! Hot!

Man! Is it hot in this loft!!! Temps are supposed to drop by 10 degrees tomorrow...but I want that to happen today, because I have so much work to do!

Dot posted my art blog link on the Cali group yesterday and today, I have many commissions to fill in addition to finishing off the work I will be selling in SF tomorrow at the event Madeline turned me on to.

Feeling good, in general, though. Anxiously looking forward to visits from Maya and Kelley with lots of exciting plans in…

Mosaics and life....

Taking a little break after working on mosaics all day. Getting geared up and putting the final touches on a lot of work to sell in SF on Saturday at the Hayes Valley event. Should be fun. Madeline and Delaine will be there. J. is going to sell his funny political puppets. I expect some good and colorful traffic.

Have been trying to get things in order to take off to Costa Rica as soon as my lost passport replacement comes in. Sure am looking forward to the trip....a little R&R…

On Being Vegetarian....

Switching to a vegetarian diet just one day each week saves the equivalent of driving 1160 miles less a year. If you know people who eat beef (ugh), switching to dairy, eggs or fish will save the equivalent of 760 miles a year of driving. Obviousl

Feeling Blue...sort of....not.

My friend, Peggy, used to say she was feeling "meepy". Best characterized as a generalized feeling "down"...but not really sad...not really depressed....just sort of tired and not motivated. I've been working so hard in school, so intensely...and trying to also get work done in the studio. I just don't think I've had enough sleep lately. Maybe I'll turn in early tonight.

I need to get to New Orleans to see Kate and the girls soon. She suggested June, after school is out, but I will have…

NPD

I have, over the course of the last couple of years, had occasion to interact with someone sadly afflicted with NPD aka Narcissistic Personality Disorder. As I continue with my graduate studies in clinical psychology, I keep learning more and more about this strange phenomenon. It is primarily characterized by the following traits:
The person I know has ALL of these traits:
  1. has a grandiose sense of self-importance
  2. is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, pow
