Name or Pseudonym:
Bayarts
About Me:
Visual artist, writer, wearer of many hats! During this lifetime, I have worked as a cook, a caterer, an editor, a writer. I have been administrative coordinator of an art school, a painter, a teacher, a doer of yoga, a traveler, a travel writer, a free lance videographer, a photographer, a happy homebody and, in general, someone who bounces out of bed in the morning eager to see what life has to offer. I love being alive and experiencing new things. I love seeking healthful paths and educating myself about food and nutrition, about art history and art techniques, about different cultures and ways of life. I love to go to new places and see new things and I love to stay at home. No matter where I am, I try to make the best of it and to enjoy my life as much as I can. I have a great partner with whom I share my life...and I wonder what's next? There is always something new and exciting around every corner.

Change on the horizon....

I have been on a course of non-deviation for a year and a half now with grad school. It isn't the most fun thing in the world to do, but it is pragmatic, so I have to keep my eye on the bigger picture. It has been hard, grueling work simply because my eyesight is failing so and there is so much to read, but I have been rewarded, thus far, with straight A's and with seeing the end in sight in just a bit more than a year. I just wish the school offered the courses that I need with more frequency.… Continue

Maya Moreno Craig Cochran Turns 12 Today!

Today, Maya turned 12 years old. It seems like only yesterday when I heard Sarah-Lynda's voice tell me over the phone that Maya had been born, that she was a girl and that her little cry sounded like music.

Since Maya's birth, her life h… Continue

Jambalaya and a (veggie) Crawfish Pie - Me-o My-o...

I have a hard time when I go to New Orleans, because I am a vegetarian. Vegetarianism is not as readily accepted there as it is here and it is next-to-impossible sometimes to find good, healthy vegetarian fare in that city that isn't fried or simply cheese or salad. Thank goodness there is a Whole Foods Market! Katy and I go directly there from the airport upon my arrival and I stock up on healthful goods that I cook during the weeks that I spend with her. We still eat out at times, but not ofte… Continue

Food

Went grocery shopping yesterday.

While Kelley was here, I noticed a lot of cultural differences in our food choices. Things that she takes for granted are things I never eat....milk, eggs, meat. ick. Things that I eat are things that she would never consider. At one point she asked me if we could please eat something that she could identify. ha ha!

Topic of the month....FOOD!

We took the girls to Sushi Rock in San Francisco yesterday, the culmination of a perfect day. We each had a bento box full of delightful taste explosions and enjoyed Chinatown's rush hour atmosphere. Took some cute photos that I will upload later....
