Hope things are well for you. I'm more alert these days and trying to put a little weight on my booted foot. I got to instant message with my daughter last night. Hearing from her brings a little calm into my life at this crazy time.

kind of up in the air right now for plans. it's my mother's 86th birthday and she and my dad are ....too long of a story and very painful to recount. No one would believe their behavior anyway. so the short story is: So if my husband is home, I'll go over there for awhile then pass out candy to the few kids who come to our house, I guess. Hope you have a fun birthday with your family. I don't know why Halloween is considered a holiday anyway. It really isn't. I'm not having a very good day at all. bleh. Hope things are going well for you. I always have to walk a thin line about Halloween in my Sunday school class. I found a great lesson about a pumpkin and how we wash it off, then open it up and take all the yucky stuff out, make a happy face then put a light inside for all to see. Nice metaphor for when we believe all the bad inside is gone and makes room for God's love to shine through, added a bible verse from Matthew, a color page of a happy jack o' lantern and I think and that was that, the person who is taking my class for me said the kids really liked it. In his children's sermon, my husband explained everything and lit the pumpkin before they were dismissed for Sunday school. I don't push the scary stuff, their little lives are scary enough as it is, they have so many heartaches for such young kids.

We have a family at our school who's daughter was diagnosed with Touret's when she was in first grade, they decided to keep the older daughter at our school and home school the daughter with touret's. before when she attended the school, she walked with head down and mostly alone, now when she comes in to visit with her mom she visits with me and is such a happy little girl. Traditional school is not for everyone. we just finished a three hour meeting with our friend who is a lawyer. He thinks we need to get a lawyer to help us through this case. So the good thing is I get to go to Santa Barbara tomorrow where the lawyer is! Maybe we'll go to lunch at the beach or something fun like that. This is really taking an enormous amount of energy out of me. It makes me want to quit my job and hide under my desk at home. I don't like people thinking I'm a liar. And now i have to tell my story all over again and again and again. Things will look better in the morning. at least I'll get to get out of my pajamas and wear something nice. But I have no polish on my toes and it's making me crazy. I haven't had nail polish off my nails in a year. my mocha was fabulous, i had to promise to drink a big glugful of cranberry juice before he gave it to me, though. for some reason, except for the mochas, I'm off coffee. I have started drinking decaf green tea and the passion tea you can buy at starbucks. Emily was a starbuckaroo for a little while last summer and told me how to make the tea taste the same as at the store. the mocha's i still can't get. My husband is a coffee drinker but is trying to quit for awhile during his health kick. I just murmur encouragement and look the other way when he makes his morning coffee! I'm so ramped up from that meeting I should try to do something productive. Oh, great, that statement made me tired, guess I'll go to bed. Oh, and for the record. I am the only sunday school teacher at my husband's church and I love my children dearly but if any bullies or teasing happen, i send said bullies straight back in to the church to their parents which spells big trouble for them so we do OK. we've got this great pumpkin message this Sunday that isn't too schmaltzy so i hope it goes over well. I can't go yet, so my husband has to do it himself i have to wait a few more weeks before i go back and I do miss them so much.

I love Arrested Development. we have every episode. some of the lines have been incorporated into our family forever! If I had young children at this time, I would have yanked them out of public and private school or never would have enrolled them in the first place. I work for a school system and the teachers at my school save one or two are very good teachers and I love them and i work for wonderful principal ever but the rest.... On HULU this morning I watched My So-Called Life. Yikes!

thanks for the nice words! I just rolled in here after watching too much hulu (they NEVER should have told me about it) on the ol' laptop. And my husband showed up with a tall starbucks mocha! That should get me writing! I live on the central coast of CA, we are so cool like that!
