NaBloPoMo has gotten the better of me. I can't keep up trying to put something new here every day. I already have several other blogs (a couple of which are only posted to infrequently).

Just about the time we drag our weary butts home and grab some dinner, Ninja Warrior comes on. It's a great mindless thing to watch. No plot to follow, just the same obstacle course run by various contenders.

Tonight was a little different because there were a number of "contenders" who obviously weren't, like the flabby comedian with a pot belly, among others. Those guys got weeded out pretty fast, some of them at the very first obstacle. Only two of the 100 made it through the…

I have the same three or four dreams all the time.

I have no clothes. It always starts with me being somewhere and suddenly becoming aware that I have few or no clothes on. People around me don't seem to notice it, but I know that any second they'll see that I'm naked or only have underwear on. Then the race is on as I desperately try to find something to put on before they notice. I read somewhere years ago that this is an "insecurity dream."

I'm always amazed by the number of dysfunctional or abnormal people out there.

Since we bought the bed & breakfast and I've had to hire housekeepers (lost track of how many at this point), I've been astounded by their personal stories. Assault, dysfunctional families, alcohol and drug abuse, abandonment, and so on... Sometimes I think what's so amazing is how many of these women have managed to remain somewhat normal in the face of all that. How…

Today is my friend Bette's birthday, so we went to see The Bee Movie. As expected, lots of bee puns and one-liners by the incomparable Jerry Seinfeld. It was a fun movie and it's bound to be a box office success, much like A Bug's Life. Certainly it will be a popular addition to the home DVD collection, especially in families with kids.

I just hope we don't have a bunch of kids who grow up thinking that bees really do talk (do they?) and that they can pollinate dead flower…
