About Me:: I'm a Yorkshire lass living in Amsterdam since 1994, married to my gorgeous Dutch husband, Sjoerd, since 2003. When I'm not trying out recipes I'm an energy healer and research neuroscientist (quite an unusual combination!) who started off as a research chemist. I have a penchant for trying out new recipes. In my blog, I share my passion for testing recipes, and report honestly about how they really are to make...and most importantly....how they taste. Instead of writing all over my recipe books, I can now write all over my blog! I think it is the scientist in me that likes to experiment so much, mix things up, and then analyse and report what emerges :=)

It's a symbolic name for what my life is about, you know, a little bit of heaven here on earth, enjoying the little things in life, you know, ... creating a little bit of heaven every day right here on earth, and make it "a little house in heaven". That should just about cover it a little!
