About Me:: Having a kid gave me a reason to quit what had become an increasingly corporate job and gave me some time to rebuild myself from the inside out. Which makes me sound like I’m some sort of bionic woman or something, which I'm not. Though come to think of it, as the mother of two young kids, I could use some of those super powers. Able to hear every sound everywhere, I could toss my baby monitor. I could tote around the tots without throwing out my back. And with legs that never tire? I could sleep standing up, keeping my baby blissfully vertical, which is apparently how they sleep best. But, I digress...

I started writing again and began my blog last January, where I write about peaceful parenting, how cute and funny my kids are, how irritating and crazy-making my kids are, and about what I learn from my many mistakes. In other words, come meet Mama-Om, Mama-Yay!, Mama-Goddammit, and Mama-Oops... We've got lots of room at my messy house for ya.

My acupuncturist wants to break up with me

I know! I should have seen it coming.

I mean, things had definitely slowed down after our super-hot beginning this summer. What, with us seeing each other every other week (at least!) and me dragging my sorry, tired self all the way across town to her office, blindly groping my way toward some semblence of health that I believed perhaps only she could provide.

Free Range Kids

I am grateful for our homeschooling group, and specifically right now, for the Southend group. We meet every week at a nearby park, where the kids climb on the play structure and ride their bikes along the trails. The trails are in an open enough area that we can almost always see the kids off in the distance. The grass is just tall enough that the kids can get lost in their own little worlds.
