Illustration Friday - Enough

The theme word at Illustration Friday is 'Enough'.
Do you think there is enough designs and color here?
This is a mandala that I recently finished and posted to my mandala blog where I tried to explain my process when I create mandalas.
I have found that writing a haiku just works so well when I am designing a mandala. This one came to me now.
Is it enough yet?
All these colors and design
It sure works for me

You can find more mandalas and haiku here.

Happy Illustration Friday and thanks for stopping by.

Mystery Plant Is Growing

A few weeks ago I painted the small plant we got and mixed up when we planted it. It is either a zuchini or a squash. It is blooming so I think we may soon know which plant is where.

Animal Wednesday - Dreamy Cat

I have been organizing my photos and found this cat that I did a few months ago. And discarded because I didn't like the results. For one thing, the pattern on the sofa fought for center of interest.
I tweaked it a bit on Picasa to make the edges blurry and now it looks a bit better. I may try this again.
Happy Animal Wednesday!

Blooming Tuesday - Red Poppies

I found these beautiful red poppies in my neighbor's yard and snapped one up to take home and paint. The left side is the top of the flower and the right is the underside which was also very interesting.
I didn't even know there were red poppies.
Happy Blooming Tuesday.

Just For Grins

I'm not sure if you all know that when I retired from nursing, I got married again (I was a widow), moved to Small town, Wisconsin and started writing human interest stories for the local newspaper. After five years of doing that I retired again much to the dismay of my editor. But we were spending more and more time in Arizona so it was for the best.

Anyway, when we went to the 4th of July parade and VFW Chic Nic, we saw the photographer from the paper and he took our photo. The Editor has a sense of humor like me and she planted the photo right in the middle of a whole collage of photos on page 1 of the second section.

I went to see her today and we giggled over it. I thought you might all get a grin from it too.

And no, I don't want a job again :)

I have another Blog at Teri's Mandala's where I post an occasional mandala. My mandala's are handmade, meaning I don't use any software to make them-just doodle away and the result a…

Thank you! I, personally, am interested in looking back on this month to see how my writing voice develops through daily posting. I like your watercolors. Mostly, I use pencil and pen when drawing/illustrating/etc., though, watercolor (the tubed kind, less water) is pretty close to the top on my painting loves. What I really need is a scanner :|

hi teri; thanks for the comment. I am new to this group and not sure what to do. You look like it is second nature to you! I guess that what we do is reference our blogs in the groups that people belong to. Inquiring mind, and beyond slow in getting up to speed....
