Name or Pseudonym:
Turtleheart
About Me:
I’m a somewhat obsessive-compulsive, very short, tree hugging, dirt worshiping pagan living in Colorado, USA with my husband, Firehand, and two neurotic, special-needs cats.

I’m a voracious reader, avid crocheter, wanna-be herb gardener and I dabble in many creative endeavors. Most days I’m pretty darn content with my own company, but there’s always room for kindred spirits.

So Here We Go

After failing miserably at NaNoWriMo last year with only 6749 words, I decided I'd try NaBloPoMo this year. I wasn't able to figure out what the hell my novel was about, let alone where it was going, hence, it went nowhere.

But I'm a better blogger than an author, so I think I can find something to babble on about for a post every day for a month. At least it feels like a reachable goal at this point. To see if I'm right, visit me at my main blog:

Turtleheart - How brave you are to venture into the SPC realm! I love to look at what SPC'ers come up with but I too am uncomfortable with pictures of myself. I did however post a photo of us holding the baby turtle if you want to drop by and see it. Peace.

Turtleheart,
Thanks for the comments! They were fun to wake up to. I've been surfing around your blog (and added you to my blogroll.) I can't say I "enjoyed" your post on teen dating violence because it's such a difficult and scary topic for me to think too long and hard about. But we have to! I read another really great post about the murder/rape/boyfriend craziness of those students in Italy on Sognatrice's blog. (http://bleedingespresso-sognatrice.blogspot.com/2007/11/murder-and-xenophobia-troubled-times-in.html)
Thank you for your well-written, thoughtful post about an important matter. I've enjoyed finding your blog. Of course I've got questions - like what do you crochet, how did you get so into sea turtles when you live up in a landlocked state, and what do you like to read most - but maybe some of the answers are deeper in your blog than I've gotten to dig yet. I'll keep reading. It's so much fun to find Crafty women to read and meet!
Peace.
OH - and I love, love, love your rune necklaces! It's not usually my type of look and when you wrote yesterday about making them I thought "good for her" but when I saw the pictures today they totally hit me in a "I want one!" kind of way. My partner Bet has a rune tattoo one her arm and I've played with runes but only a bit. You've made me want to go dig out my stones! And see what other crafty things you've posted. -L

Hey Turtleheart -
I tried (and failed miserably) at NaNoWriMo last year too and I kept wishing I'd done NaBlo instead. I love your icon - especially as I once had the chance to witness baby sea turtles hatching and launching out to sea. So, nice to see (meet? stalk?) you and hope to see you around more.

I have to giggle...you call yourself a 'tree hugging' pagan...and every time I mention Wicca or Pagan to my hubby he says 'tree hugging'...I think it's engrained on my brain :D Good luck with NaBlo! I know the turmoils of NaNo as well...I've tried 3 times...the closest I came was last year (46,000 words). I almost cheated, (copying and pasting pre-written stuffs and then submitting) but I held off! I'm trying again! NaNo and three NaBlo's!! Meet me...I am insanity!
