38-year-old mom-to-be talking more about my pregnancy than is seemly, living in California with my husband and 1-1/2 cats. The "calm" thing... I should explain. I am notoriously not a calm person. I can find the most convoluted reasons to worry about the tiniest things. When my husband and I decided to start a family, he expressed... concern that pregnancy might be just a whole new barrel of things to worry about. No no no. I assured him. No worse than the usual amount. So when I started my pregnancy blog, "the calm before the stork," I took the name "calm mama" in a fit of optimism, irony, laughter at my own crazy self and anticipation of the adventure ahead. I presume that post-stork, life is only going to get even more interesting. And about that half-cat. That's her in my photo. Molly. She lives next door, but lets herself into our house whenever she likes for a nibble or a nap.

My sister in law is due on the 23rd (1 week) I can't wait! Although it is making my cluckiness unbearable.
How much longer til the stork?
I am a very calm Mum, except for when I am not.
I think I make sense? No? Forgive me?
And much better, while at the same time INSANELY FRUSTRATING.
Ahem.
