I agree with the whole "letters" thing. I mixed it up a bit by choosing a specific letter of the alphabet, like Q. I then posted a poem that started with that letter by my favorite poet, Robert Frost. N....was for the non-existent blog !!!! It's been fun.

Here's Hoping

In 2000 I was a starry-eyed Democrat living in New York City. I got to do two really cool things that fall:

  • Vote for Hillary Clinton as the Junior Senator from New York

  • Vote for Al Gore as President of the United States.

Some books are free, some books are $4.95 - $6.95 but still, way cool. Now - learn a language or have some brain candy?

Let the Great Ones Speak

“Discontent is the first step in the progress of a man or a nation” - Oscar Wilde

“The splendid discontent of God With Chaos, made the world; And from the discontent of man The world's best progress springs” - Ella Wheeler Wilcox

“Restlessness is discontent and discontent is the first necessity of progress. Show me a thoroughly satisfied man and I will show you a failure.” - Thomas Edison

“If necessity is the mother of invention, discontent is the father of progress”Continue

The Change That Comes

I was on my way home from work on Wednesday afternoon, and I decided to turn off the CD player (I've had a Maroon 5 fixation of late). The next song that came on the radio was Natalie Merchant's "Wonder", which is a song I have always loved.

I got to thinking about the whole topic of change, and where change begins: outer change begins on the inside...

Family Fun

Irish woke me up from a nap because he heard my laptop "bloop". He opened it and saw an IM from my brother in Germany, asking me to come on Skype because they were getting ready to put my nephew to bed for the night.

They are stationed in Germany, and my nephew is 3. He is a bundle of hootiness. He kept moving so much he was just a blur:

Then we told him to stay still and say cheese and got this:
