MommyBa's Journey

Finally!

I'm done redesigning this blog for the month. It took me a while to choose a template and to customize it to my simple needs as possible. I used a WordPress-based template earlier but I couldn't figure out how the blog would look "normal" in IE so I had to look for other templates. I chose this one that also suited the blog pack I got from Shabby Miss Jenn and then worked on my additional elements. I lost a number of hours of sleep doing this because I hated the fact that people were visiting me only to find a messed up site. If there's a movie title I'm working on in relation to this, it would be "how to lose weight in 2 days"! LOL!

I guess this is what I would call perfect for now. Now, I can go back to blogging my stuff and as always, I would be very happy to hear from you.

It's a rainy day today and I have to scoot for work. It's 4th of July tomorrow and we're having a paid holiday off! Yipee! It's just one of the perks I get for working with my company (...although I still dread the move to The Fort in August).

Trimming down

I still haven't gotten full control over my weight management issues and yet another pill has been discovered to aid in fat burning together with proper diet and exercise.

I don't know if eca stack is already available over here but there's so much hype about this new product but just like any other weight loss management supplements, it's supposed to help burn fats fast, boost your metabolism and increase your energy.

Personally, I'd still prefer that I undergo an exercise program coupled with a balanced diet for an effective weight loss program. But I guess it wouldn't really harm to try out this newest medicine for as long as I will not overdose on it.

No sense of direction

If only life can be guided by a GPS device then I would have known what road to take and what alley not to pass through. I might have avoided the mishaps I encountered in my life.

For people like me without sense of direction, life is a trial and error thing which cannot be controlled by gadgets. Life tests your ability to decide and make choices without a map, without a tracking device. Your gadgets are your instincts, your gut feel and most of all, God's innumerable signs. A lot of road blocks are built and numerous paths have been set up for you to trek. It's up to you which gadget to use and where to go.

Photo Hunt: Bright

Brightly-colored veggies adored this noodle dish I ordered for lunch in Boracay. It just didn't feed my eyes, it also fed my discriminating palate to satisfaction.

DIY Mom

It would be wonderful to be a do-it-yourself mother. If there's one skill that I lack, it's the fact that I don't know how to do minor repairs for simple broken things inside the house. Although I know some things by theory, I don't apply them in real life. I'm scared to try out things like this because I might blow up my house and I still don't know it.

I have a couple of air tools and other frequently-used household items needed for quick repairs. I figured it would be best to have tools like that ready for use just in case something gets broken. I could hammer in a couple of nails and screws here and there but I will leave the serious repairs to the experts. At least, the tools are there handy and accessible when I need them for emergency.

Day 16 - NaBloPoMo (Friday's Feast Week 6)

I'm home alone right now psyching myself to read until the hours of the morning (that is, if I don't fall asleep) for my class on Sunday. MH and Basti will be going to a swimming party on Sunday with MH's family. Basti's still a little sick after having fever last night. I showered him with lots of kisses and hugs for him to bring home so he'll get well soon.

Work was a bummer. I wasn't as productive as usual. I had to spend two hours in one case alone. I kinda lose in my head whatev…

Day 15 - NaBloPoMo (And I Pampered Myself!)

After weeks and weeks of neglecting myself, I declared a day off from the gym and spent a good 3 hours in the spa. It's been a while since I pampered myself and despite the bill I'll be incurring for it next month, I decided to splurge a little and gave myself a little lovin'!

My colleague, Karlyn, recommended that I try JePun Pali for their spa services at the Mall of Asia. It's the sister company of Relaksasi and she told me it's the biggest branch of Relaksasi so far. She had her mas…

Day 13 - NaBloPoMo (Body Jam)

Finally! I was able to join the Body Jam class today. I was hesitant at first because I don't know a thing about the routine. It's more like street dancing with all that pumping action and moves.

It was the longest 45 minutes of my life. don't dance and this group exercise was all about moving every inch of muscle and fat in sync with the rhythm and beat of the music. But surprisingly, I loved it and would like to do it again. I actually enjoyed it.

As much as I'd like RPM/cyc…

Thanks for your ideas on what to cook for Cook Something Bold and Pungent Day! I've decided to go with a dried fish recipe like this one . On Thursday I'll post to my blog about the results! I'm a bit nervous, but excited to see how it will turn out.
