Who is still going the pace with NaBloPoMo?

Holidalies is taking daily posting to a whole new level. NaBloPoMo was just about posting, Holidailies has very strict rules for posts with minimum word count, type of blog, etc. If you agree to po... Read More »

Who is still going the pace with NaBloPoMo?

Added a post Nov 28 2007

It hasn't been too hard. I've done over 100 posts and luckily have never had to do a meme. I never run out of random crap to post on, and seeing as how I don't have much work, it's easier to just s... Read More »

Fabooj's Blog

Whew!

I just got an email from ePluribus Media that they're moving to a new address. I'm glad to see that, as I would have been bummed if one of the best investigative blogs on the internet shut down. From the email:
We are moving!

The addresses are the same and we've boxed up all the old stuff to bring with us, but Roxy's wonderful tech team has given us a unified look and feel to our different sites and components. Come on in through the new front door:…

Happy Birthday, Metroblogging LA!

Metroblogging LA has turned 4 today, so why don't you go on over and give them some birthday wishes. I'm forever grateful for the site that teaches me more about the city I live in and celebrates its quirks and idiosyncrasies.

Environmentally safe toys

In the past week, I've been hit up by several people for wish lists for my kids. Nothing has changed since they were born, the list is simple: Educational (non-electronic) toys as long as they're not tied to a trademarked character or gift cards to places I get them clothes (Gap, Gymboree, Target, etc). Every year, those wishes are ignored and I'm faced with returning or tossing toys manufactured in China or Mexico (great sources of lead which has finally…

NoMoNaBloPoMo!

I just realized that today is the last day of NaBloPoMo. Wow...what a month it's been. With this post include, I"ve done 125 posts. Not bad. To do it, I've sort of had to ignore posting on other blogs for the month and I definitely neglected my other 4 blogs that I own. It's been an interesting experience. I've "met" some interesting people that's for sure. I know that I won't keep posting every day after this month, but I'll consider doing this exercise next year.

Well, at least the car will get clean...

It's raining. The paper said there was a 30% chance of rain, so naturally it rained. If it said 65% chance of rain, it would have just been cloudy. So, now that I'm feeling a little better, I can take the kids out the house, and it starts raining. That means we're kinda stuck in the house, for there is no drama greater than rain-induced Iliadrama. The little girl must accessorize to death just to get into the car. If I make her leave one piece of crap at…

I don't know what to think about this...

In trying to set up the little boy with some Yo Gabba Gabba, I got mesmerized by an ad for...get this: Alvin and the Chipmunks movie. Yes. They're making a CGI (natch) movie featuring...now here is where I scratch my head: Jason Lee.

Jason Lee.
Alvin and the Chipmunks.
2007.

I'm sorry, but are the people of my generation who are now running the studios so desperate for their childhoods that we have to rehash every friggin' thi…

Missing women of color and media disinterest

How many of you clicked every update and talked about your friends and/or family over the Emily Sander case? How much detail can you provide me? When it comes to missing females in the media, I admit to glossing over them. It's usually a white, blond, attractive young woman. Ugly white ladies who go missing get more coverage than an attractive young black/latino/Asian female.

Early last month, I learned of Nailah Franklin. She was 28 yr. old who went missing after a series of vague t…

If lovin' you is wrong, I don't wanna be right...

God help me, but I love me some Hickory Farms Turkey Summer Sausage. I don't know why. It's not entirely healthy, it does funny things to my belly and the chemical taste should just end it right there. None of that stuff can stop me from consuming two sticks in a day. Let's put it this way: I'd rather my kids starve than share one thin slice of Summer Sausage with them. HAHA...I said "r…

Does it make me a geek?

On Saturday, I got 3 catalogs from PosterGarden in the mail. I don't know how I got on their mailing list, but I did and under 3 different company names. Anway, I flipped through just amazed at their low prices and what looks like quality tradeshow booths. I immediately began fantasizing about going to tradeshows to sell my jewelry. All I need is a cool booth! Poster Garden doesn't just have booths, they sell everything, from floors to chairs to tables.…

GOP Debate tonight

Those stone-aged, zany, torture loving Taliban GOP candidates have decided to come out of hiding and actually do the CNN/YouTube debate. You'll remember that after the Democrats did their CNN/YouTube debate, the Taliban GOP candidates all quickly decided that having regular people ask them questions was more than they should have to deal with and all of a sudden "scheduling conflicts" arose.

If you read CNNs website, you'd be under…

Rain Pryor

So, the other day I got wrapped up in a conversation with a person who thinks they're always right but they never are. This guy insisted that Rain Pryor was on Head of the Class from '88 - 90. I told him that she only did like two episodes and they were both in the '88 - '89 season.

I had to break out IMDB. Well, he as at least almost right on the years. Can you believe she was only on for two episodes? Years ago, I realized she had a…

BBC News: Have Your Say

The Have Your Say feature on the BBC news site is one of my favorites. People from around the world posts their thoughts on the subject of the day. Sometimes it's a situation, sometimes it's a person. This time, they're taking questions from people to ask La Moustache aka John Bolton some questions. I thought of millions of questions, but after reading the first 2 pages this morning, reali…

Kindle revisited

I wrote about Kindle, Amazon's new ebook the other day. After I wrote that post, something about the name kept bothering me. Yesterday morning, I realized that 'kindle' brings to mind fire, which equals book-burning, which makes you think that they chose the name Kindle to prove that their new gadget is a textile book killer.

Or maybe I'm just jumping to conclusions.

I wasn't going to mention my…

Hey there! Just wanted you to know that you can add your picture post URL to any weekly winners post as long as the pics fall into that week's dates. It's never too late. ;-)

It's always best if you want to get visits, of course, to link up with the current week's post as soon as possible (while people are still checking it out more).

I'm posting the Weekly Winners Post for November 25-December 1st pictures tonight at 12am, CST. You can link up to it with your pictures from this past week anytime after that. (the sooner the better, if you want traffic)! ;-)

Thanks for the interest!
