Google to Connect Friends Across the Web

Google announced yesterday another step in what its engineers see as that inevitable evolution. A new, free service from the Mountain View, Calif, tech giant will allow any Web site to become a social site. Any Web page, whether it is devoted to curling or pizza or a folk singer, could allow visitors to meet and connect with "friends" on their website.

Day 4+ 5 The Weekend. Success at Helium and Other Short Stories

That's probably a much better title than it sounds! Or not.

I only managed to write a couple of short posts on my blog over the weekend, not having spent much time at the computer. At least I am still keeping up with the challenge! Or so I tell myself.

So anyway, I reviewed another blog, and told the world about my success at Helium. Well I was pleased to find an email telling me a magazine publisher had bought some of my articles. Why shouldn't I share the good news?…

Day 2 - 2 things

2 things I'm thinking this morning is.

1. I should put some music on my page. When I get another few minutes maybe that's what I'll do.

Music is the food of love ... or life ... or something great anyway!

I love music don't you? All kinds of music. Classical, Pop, Rock, Indie, Electronic, Rap, just give me the music and let me love it.

I love learning to play music especially.

I started blogging about learning to play music some time ago.

Hey Alice!

Sorry to hear that you couldn't leave a comment on my blog - could you tell me what went wrong? It should be just a matter of registering a username and then leaving your message.

Thanks for letting me know you dropped by! And try the banana bread - it's been almost completely demolished in 24 hours.

Don't worry about it Felinti - I've seen both of your comments, so feel free to use whichever method you like.

I am a Lewis supporter too, though as I support several other drivers, as well as the Force India team (or that's what they're calling it for the next year...) I cannot honestly say my support for him is as wholehearted as yours. He has been a credit to himself, both in the car and out this year, especially noting that he is a rookie.

By the way, it looks like Lewis has picked Geneva for his new base of operations. I went there when I was 10 for a swimming gala, and it's beautiful. The public transport works, a lot of things are cheaper than they are in London, there's a huge park that would make a brilliant morning run for Lewis and the food is quite good. Oh, and Fernando Alonso lives about halfway round Lake Geneva near Vufflens-le-Chateau, so he won't get in the way too much...

Good luck to you on NaBloPoMo. I'm probably not the best person to consult for advice on doing NaBloPoMo, since the dry run I did last month still resulted in five missed days (oops!), but if you remember to do it every day (maybe leave a prompt somewhere) and try not to restrict your ideas too much, you'll be fine. I'm sure the results will be worth reading :)

Yeah I think he will do well in the future. I really thought he would win it this year. I don't normally take much notice of F1 but because of the British interest it was a lot more exciting!

Switzerland is a good place for an F1 driver to be based. Granted, the tax is low, which must have been a factor in his decision. The press in Switzerland are a lot calmer and more controlled in their actions than the British (the "red tops" are renowned for spending half their time standing on celebrity toes), so Lewis' version of why he's moving works as well.

It's also worth saying that Switzerland has lots of open spaces, which would be great for any athlete intending on giving themselves a work-out. This is why a lot of F1 drivers who don't like Monaco's more urban environs end up there. As long as Lewis doesn't end up in the same part of Switzerland as Fernando Alonso (yes, he has a house there already!), and he remembers to keep in contact with the mothership McLaren regularly, Lewis should do well in Switzerland.
