Midwesterner recently relocated to the west, renovating a Victorian house in anticipation of the arrival of my first daughter-currently residing in an orphanage in China. Backpacker, knitter, playwright, fiddle player, weaver, gardener, and generally enjoying exploring the world around me.
Yeah, but your trip to China will beat all my trips to Minnesota EVER. Hands-down.
My FIL lives in Colorado and was caught in Chicago because of the storms last December. I knew I was supposed to be sympathetic, and I was, but oh, I long for snow....
I figured you'd be more likely to see my answer if I commented here, so, yes, I'm an expat MN girl. Although I'm starting to have to admit that I haven't lived there full-time for more than half my life.
(We do talk pretty seriously about buying a retirement place there someday, which strikes all the Minnesota relatives as bizarre. Personally, I can think of better places to retire than Arizona, where the water is only going to get more and more scarce -- but hey, if my aunts and uncles want to retire on a fixed income to a place where the cost of a fundamental life resource can only rise, that's their business, right?)
Uh, what was I saying?
Yeah, I grew up in the Cities. I vacation up north at the cabin every summer. And I'll be there for Christmas, so they darn well better have snow!
