Who am I? Why am I here?

I'm a mother to 3 children, 2 dogs and 2 cats. My oldest is a senior in high school and my youngest is in kindergarten. My life largely centers around them. I learn more from them every day than from any other source.

I'm a photographer of families, children, and life in general. I rarely go anywhere without my camera. I take pictures because I want to remember and I want to share what I see. My middle child is a natural photographer who borrows my camera to share his world. I'm always amazed by his vision.

I'm a knitter - almost an obsessive one. I knit for the process of knitting as well as for the finished product. I love the interplay of the yarn, the pattern, and the time that goes into creating something that is both beautiful and useful.

I'm a sewer. I sew when knitting something wouldn't be practical. I sew because I can't resist beautiful fabrics and need to justify their presence in the closet. I sew because I love combining disparate patterns into a cohesive whole that works.

I'm a writer. A latent writer, really. I'm here because I need to push myself to write more. Writing improves with constant practice, just like taking pictures. So, I will practice, practice, practice.
