Profile Information

Name or Pseudonym:
InkSpotJLC
About Me:
I am a writer, photographer and traveler to internal and external landscapes. I live to experience, I experience to write.

Currently my husband and I are transitioning from living in Italy to being back in the States. At first we were a little daunted with coming back right before the elections, but now I'm glad I was here for this historic occasion.

We're in San Diego for now, but will be heading out to Tucson shortly for a new life adventure. And I can't wait!

I work as a grant writer, among other things, for a couple of research scientists (Cancer, AIDs, Autoimmune diseases in general, and Rheumatoid Arthritis in particular).

My husband is currently earning an MFA in Illustration and hopes to transition to an art-based career in the near future.

Sometimes I'm a little narcissistic and do do web searches of my own name. Whatever. It is what it is. Probably everyone with a little search engine savvy has googled themselves at one point or another. In the process, I came across this website. This is so cool and I feel so honored to be the recipient of sentiments such as these. (Geez-I feel like I'm accepting an award or something.) The medieval festival at Castello del Poggiarello di Stigliano will definitely remain fresh in my memory, as… Continue

Random-Writing, November, Sleepiness

I'm a little wonky right now due to lack of sleep and excitement over this election. Besides election day, NaNoWriMo started this month, as it has every November for the past 10 years. It's cool that National Novel Writing Month has become so popular. The website gets updated and expanded each year. Forums are crazy with activity. The organizers have also implemented some youth programs in recent years to get kids and teens amped about literature and writing. This year I am attempting to write… Continue

2. Tales of transit

Greg and I are a little nutty for super hero movies, shows, you name it. I've even been getting into comic books lately. For the trip, Greg bought the latest season of Smallville on DVD. Smallville, for those not in the know, chronicles the early years of one Clark Kent. We always thought it was a great concept. How does a kid who thinks he's normal adjust to and cope with having all these cool abilities? Well, we ended up not firing up the computer and watching it because Ironman was offered a… Continue

1. Tales of transit

We got out our GPS gadget today. For kicks, I was looking at our saved locations, which are all in Italy and Croatia. It is over 10000 miles to the house we had in Naples. Even though we don't have to take a ship to make that transatlantic crossing, air travel can still be daunting. We arrived at the airport in Naples on the military side really early, but that gave us time to return the rental car, turn in our IDs to get on base, and for Greg to complete the rest of his paperwork saga. Maddie… Continue

Last days in Naples

Retrospectively, of course. We've been in San Diego for a little over a week now. It seems hard to imagine that o… Continue
