Today marks the first day I can't get motivated from the time my feet hit the floor. Maybe it's the rain outside my window. Always makes me want to curl up with a good book or sleep. Goodness. I've finished my first project, even added two more chapters after calling it quits. Now it's time to dive into the second story. Project 1 has consumed more than thirty hours over two days. I've hit almost 41,000 words and the best thing I can say is that it will end today. Maybe int he morning. Maybe in the afternoon. It's a story I feel needs telling and it's coming out well. My characters haven't decided to bombard me with messages about how they can do better. The plots line up well. And, mostly, I feel good about it.

As for blogging my way through it, it's been a hoot. I didn't realize how important it was…

Wow! I didn't think I could do so well. More than 10,000 words and the day's not over yet. I took a break to let my brain grab the next part of the book but I think this one will make me think twice about any other NaNo project I do.

With only a day and a half to go, I have tons to finish before starting NaNo. Wow. I've never been this slow before. I sure hope it doesn't bode ill for my attempt this year. My first novel is ready but I still have to outline my second. This afternoon is devoted to doing it on my laptop, to get away from the temptation of the internet.
