- I was born in the Philippines (RP), moved to Los Angeles in 1969 and grew up there, moved to northern Virginia (VA) in 1989. I graduated from UCLA in 1988 with a BA in Political Science, and I graduated from GWU with a Masters in Management Information Systems (MIS) in 1999. I’m happily married since 2004. I started this blog as part of my ongoing struggle to maintain a personal journal, something that I’ve been trying to do for over 20 years with only sporadic success until now. I live with my wife and my Mom. My Dad passed away in 2001. My Lola (grandma) passed in 2004. My brother lives in Boston with his partner and son. I have several relatives who live in the Los Angeles area. My niece (cousin’s daughter) is doing her medical residency at a hospital in Harlem (NY, NY). I have a couple of cousins and their families in Houston and another cousin and family in Portland, OR. I have another cousin and family in Sydney, Australia. Most of the rest of my relatives still live in the Philippines, mostly in Metro Manila, Laguna province, Aklan province and Bulucan province. My wife has four brothers, five nieces and four nephews. Most live in Manila, and one brother and family (along with her mother) live in Tagum (near Davao). Her Dad passed in 1987.
