Vegetarians and Animal Crackers: Faux pas?

No.

I really want to just have a one word post with this particular title. However, it seems like that's a little bit too saucy even for my own good. Plus, it seems to not really fit into the spirit of NaBloPoMo. I just want to make it known that I thought it would be really funny if I had just left this post with "No." as the only thing on the page. So, I'ma talk in italics for the rest of this post to demonstrate that the actual post is…

Woody Allen Writes Books?

Sometime last spring my reading started to slow down. Anything that was at all intense took me a very long time to read, and if it required reflection of any sort, it would take me even longer. Novels that I would normally finish in two or three days were taking me a month or so. It was disheartening and frustrating, and so I just put all novels aside. I still read poetry and short stories, something that I could r…

Colons in Titles: Useful Adjunct or Overused Schtick?

I find it fitting that I am sitting in a computer lab on campus whilst I write today's post. I have done more than my share of research from these computers, and I have seen more than my share of encoloned titles. I am setting a challenge to myself for this particular post. I'm going to log on to the library website. Open up the MLA Bibliography search page and do a search for Timothy Findley's Headhunter. I'm willing to bet that the…

Canadian National Identity in the Blogosphere: The Borg, and You

Grymm the Pleasant was quite ranty about the Na part of NaBloPoMo. His discussion of the issue is roughly the length of some of my lazier NaBloPoMo efforts:

The nature of national pride vis a vis Canadians not noticing that this is a "National" challenge set up by an American, and how this reflects throughout our culture and in the international stage, as well as the counterpoint that in the global village set up of the…

The Knowledge of T-ass: Questionable or Sketchy?

T-ass is a former housemate of mine. When he moved out, I wrote a lot about the fun we had and how much we would all miss him. I think he's swell, and it sucks that he doesn't live in the city anymore. He knows a lot of weird stuff like random music, sports and politics trivia. I wouldn't recommend playing Jeopardy with him because he'll surprise you. I remember several evenings, ea…

Heyas Mmrilla,

Thanks so much for your comments and thoughts. I really appreciated hearing what you were thinking. It's funny how the age thing creeps up on you. It's inevitable and still completely unexpected.

And I'll totally look forward to your blog post that announces you are student-loan free too :)

Loved your photographic essay. I once heard it said that the difference between a professional and an amateur photographer is in the pictures they throw away.
I saw it on the front page of NaBlo and was inspired to come here and read the rest of your work. Hope you don't mind if I add you!

Hi Mmrilla,

Welcome to Creative Bloggers. I so have to know - what was going on when that picture was taken?

Your post on the semicolon was brilliant!
