All the Kids Are Home - Sort Of

Well the kids are technically home. They sleep here anyways. This revolving door doesn't give us much time to get our signals straight.

At 8:30 this morning, as I sipped my tea in my jammies, my college girl says to me,"I thought you were going with me to my eye doctor's appointment?" in her best panicky tone. The appointment was at 9. I took the fastest shower ever - it was a guilt induced hurry.

Thawing the Bird and Grandma's Dirty Little Secret

Tonight I must remember to do what I forgot last year - take out the turkey to defrost. I was in a wine-induced panic last year as I tried to thaw that 16-pound sucker out in the sink with running cold water. My hands were a deep shade of red (to match my merlot) and it was wicked. Luckily, my sis-in-law is ALWAYS late and was very late for dinner. No problem here because my bird wasn't totally ready to be served and I just acted like a gracious hostess. Bushy Has Arrived

After being prodded by a few readers to put my story about Bushy online, I did and you can read it in all its glory here. I have to admit that I baited people into asking for this. I added a line in a post alluding to the story and waited. They bit. (It was the motivation that I needed to write the whole thing down, something I had been too lazy to do previously.) The Tale of Bushy is Coming

Someone tagged me and I had to share 8 little things about myself. Well, I didn't HAVE to but I did. One of them was that I have a statue of a squirrel that I call "Bushy" and that it has a story around it.

It made my curious readers ask for the whole story and I am writing it now. It's kind of long so I will post it when I am done but I just wanted to tease a bit further....
