I've been letting books go for a couple of years now. My mother would have been appalled. She kept every book that ever touched her hand. Most of the ones I've parted with fall into categories similar to yours: self-improvement books bought impulsively when I have no real desire to change my evil ways, books someone else liked though I could never understand why, those blasted Costco books (Kate Moss is gathering dust now. I haven't cracked her covers yet, so we'll see.)

If you're more interested in moving the books on than you are in the money, check out BookCrossing. An online site where we register our books before releasing them into the wild (leaving them in random places for strangers to find.) Sometimes the finder follows up and makes a journal entry - our books write home. Other times their journey is a mystery. Fun stuff. [url=http://www.bookcrossing.com/home]BookCrossing[/url]

I wanted to comment on your blog, but your comments are set up for only those who have a blogger identity. If you were to change that you'd get more comments (that's a hint.)

I'm a native Texan, transplanted at an early age to Louisiana and now somehow find myself living in paradise. Have a nephew who does standup in Austin. Actually, I probably have relatives in most parts of Texas. My parents generation had much in common with rabbits. Most of my family is in the Dallas area.

I make fun of Ron Paul because of his personality, but you're right, his ideas are perfectly logical...which IS scary! He's like Ross Perot all over again.
