About Me:: When we lost our beloved family beagle to cancer at the age of 13 in 2003, I wrote a children's book as part of the grieving process. Remembering Ruby: For Families Living Beyond the Loss of a Pet was a labor of love for my entire family, including my sister Julie, who designed the cover and interior, and generally kept me from going insane during the publishing process (and continues that caring spirit to this day!). My husband and kids have been great sports on this wild ride, and have given maximum support every step of the way (thanks, guys!).

I created my other blog to document the publishing process, the excitement of having this lasting memorial to our dog actually available to help others, and the trials and tribulations of marketing this book from my own neighborhood to places on the other side of the world. I just figured out how to make a "blidget" at Widgetbox, so anyone reading this page at NaBloPoMo can also see my other blog! It's right there...look for the blue part. See it?

After I created "my other blog", I created ANOTHER blog, because I couldn't say all I wanted to say on the book blog. Are you following me? So...try to keep up with me this month; I'll be updating this page daily and, if I don't do a specific post for this NaBloPoMo page, I will tell you which one (might be both!) of my other blogs you can find your daily fix!

Yay for us! We made it! I'm not sure what I learned from this, but I know that I am very happy about the creative outlet that resulted from being "forced" to blog everyday. Look for an update on my Suburban Scrawl blog later today, after work!

Three More Days!

I am amazed that, with all I have to do in my life, I have made NaBloPoMo a priority. Why is that? Is it for the prizes? Is it because it only takes a few minutes? Is it to get a feeling that I accomplished something? I need to apply this attitude, wherever it came from, to certain things after November 30. Seems like it works, whatever it is!

I'm Curious To Know...

...how many people joined this crazy ride for the month of November and have given up. And out of those, how many gave up because they had circumstances which truly prevented them from posting and how many just threw in the towel because they felt uninspired?

And of those who quit early, for whatever reason, how many have forgotten about it all by now and how many are beating themselves up for stopping?

Walking the Dog in Autumn Can Be Risky...

...if your dog is a foodhound, like mine. I hate walking her through leaves, because she's constantly finding "goodies" to snack on. Lord knows what they are, and by the time I get her mouth open, it's down the hatch.
