The 25th Thing 1 and Thing 2 will be starting a new school year. :) Thing 1 will be in high school and Thing 2 will be in Jr. high. Time is flying by. Here is a video in the spirit of going back to school.



Fall is here,hear the yell
back to school,ring the bell
brand new shoes,walking blues
climb the fence,books and pens
I can tell that we're going to be friends

Walk with me,Suzy Lee
through the park and by the tree
we will rest upon the ground
and look at all the bugs we found
then safely walk to school
without a sound

Well here we are,no one else
we walked to school all by ourselves
there's dirt on our uniforms
from chasing all the ants and worms
we clean up and now its time to learn

Numbers,letters,learn to spell
nouns,and books,and show and tell
at playtime we will throw the ball
back to class,through the hall
teacher marks our height
against the wall

And we don't notice any time pass
we don't notice anything
we sit side by side in every class
teacher thinks that I sound funny
but she likes the way you sing

Tonight I'll dream while I'm in bed
when silly thoughts go through my head
about the bugs and alphbet
and when I wake tommorow I'll bet
that you and I will walk together again
cause I can tell that we're going to be friends

The assignment: If you were ruler of the world for a day/week/month/year (your choice on the time), you would...

ex...make coffee free to all citizens. Or you'd abolish the penny. You may also specify if you're ruler of the world or just your country.

So if I were ruler in our country. I would declare myself Queen Bee!


I would then abolish the taxes. Let the people spend the money where and how they see fit.

Everyone has weekends off. We all need a break. ;)

Every Friday is French Fry Day. If you love some fries, they would be free on this day.

Everyone would have Christmas, Easter, and their own birthday OFF!

Every Monday is Mexican Cuisine Day. I love Mexican food!

Once I worked the kinks out of running this country. Then I would think about ruling...I mean running the world. So look out World. Here I Come!

I do not have the gift of words, but here it goes.


Floss

Grateful for the relaxing scent of lavender when I first open my project box.

Grateful for the lack of taste while licking the ends of the floss, to aid in the threading of the needle.

Grateful for the softness of the wound cotton between my fingers as I stitch.

Grateful for the soothing noise of the floss passing through the fabric.

Grateful for the vibrant colors mingled together to create a stitcher's masterpiece.

One Hippopotami
One hippopotami cannot get on a bus,
Because one hippopotami is two hippopotamus.
And if you have two goose, that makes one geese.
A pair of mouse is mice. A pair of moose is meese.
A paranoia is a bunch of mental blocks.
And when Ben Casey meets Kildaire, that's called a paradox.
When two minks fall in love, with all their heart and soul,
You'll find the plural of two minks is one mink stole.
Singulars and plurals are so different, bless my soul.
Has it ever occurred to you that the plural of "half" is "whole"?
A bunch of tooth is teeth. A group of foot is feet.
And two canaries make a pair--they call it a parakeet.
A paramecium is not a pair.
A parallelogram is just a crazy square.
Nobody knows just what a paraphernalia is.
And what is half a pair of scissors, but a single sciz?
With someone you adore, if you should find romance,
You'll pant, and pant once more, and that's a pair of pants

I would have been a good wife in the 1930's. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing. *LOL* I do know that if any man told me...YOU CAN'T...I say WATCH ME! :P
