My mom-in-love (that's what I call my mother-in-law) goes around singing this one phrase several times a day.
"It's GREAT being a GIRL!"
For six years now she's been progressing through "The Change" approaching menopause. She usually sings during a hot flash. For those of you who have experienced these kinds of 'momentary personal summers', you know what I'm talking about. For those who haven't, including the men reading, suffice it to say that her body temperature actually raises up to 6 degrees in less than 10 seconds, can stay there for up to an hour, usually makes her sweat profusely and often, recently, gives her a headache and makes her very sick to her stomach.
"It's GREAT being a GIRL!"
She sang this little phrase to me several times when I was dealing with terrible problems with my own reproductive health. It's kind of her way of saying, "We've got to deal with this - it's part of being women." She means it very sympathetically. I would usually respond with something like, "Yah, just great!"

I've been able to sympathize with my mom-in-love in a new way recently, though.
My first night in hospital after my hysterectomy was a crazy night. I remember the nurses coming in every 2 hours or so to check on me, and that I still felt very drugged from the anesthesia and pain medication. I vaguely remember feeling sweaty, but it wasn't my main concern. I was just trying to sleep and rest and not hurt too much!
