NaBloPoMo

National Blog Posting Month

Well, we're on the final stretch. Two or three more posts for most of us and we're done; we're over the finish line and reaching for the sports drinks, towelling off the sweat, and swapping horror stories of that really tricky bit not long before the final corner when we totally thought we were going to lose it.

Or is that stretching the metaphor a bit far? Am I getting a bit giddy with relief, with excitement, with fear of the Void...when there is no more NaBloPoMo? What will Life be like then? Will we just slip back into our old skins, filling the space where NaBloPoMo had been with other activities that have put on the back burner for the month of November (like spending time with our families, writing Christmas lists, cards and the biggest-selling novel of all time...ohhhh, you're one of those people - you've been working on that, too! All power to you...hope you hit the 50,000!)?

Or do you get a sense that, just for a little while, there's going to be a slight emptiness to the day, a niggling feeling that there is something missing?

As soon as I think that, I remember that I now have a bulging Google Reader and a swag of new blogging buddies, and I've learned all sorts of interesting things about blogging and networking and friendship. And I wonder what I will be blogging about next year, when I roll up for NaBloPoMo 2008...
