So, here I'm rushing around trying to get everything done today - I dash off a painting only to find out our internet connection is toast! So my friend rigs up his Rogers stick, I have a temporary connection...and Blogger's site won't load! Everything else will. So does this post count for my posting every day? :-D I'm just going with it, though I will keep trying Blogger! It would be a shame to not "qualify" for NaBlo because of things beyond my control! I was willing to get in the truck and drive to a connection to satisfy the criteria!

Anyway, after yesterday's effort, I'm almost embarrassed to post today's painting! My RayMar panels arrived yesterday, so this is 6 x 8 oil on Raymar portrait canvas. Grey horses are tough, and you can rest assured that the colours I used don't show up in the photo. This filly is Pleasant Mix, a four-year old trained and part-owned by my friend. The funny thing is, Mix is running this weekend at Woodbine. If she doesn't win, you can bet that I will get the blame due to one of those racetrack superstitions! If it's supposed to be bad luck to take photos of a horse before a race, is painting a horse the same deal? :-D I never bought into the photo thing, though I don't tend to take pictures of my friend's horses before they run because I figure she's under enough stress!
Guess I will go try Blogger again. Today was a crazy day, with the blacksmith out to trim everybody - which meant I didn't start stalls till the afternoon, and didn't start painting until after dinner! To be fair, this little piece probably only took an hour or two. Tomorrow I am teaching a workshop on oil painting. Guess what I will be doing for a demo! I'll show you tomorrow night.
