In A Fog

Kids, I Think We’ve Learned Something Today

It is Day 30 of NaBloPoMo and I actually managed to complete the whole thing! Forcing oneself to do anything for 30 days in a row is challenging and it is inevitable certain life lessons (or at least a couple of insights) will come out of the effort. Here are some things I took away from this:

*When you have to do something everyday, there are days when you will be a rock star and other days when you will basically suck. Not every meal can be a gourmet effort – sometimes cold cereal will have to do.
*Inspiration can hit you out of left field and sometimes it is best just to stop over-obsessing and see what comes your way.
*No matter what society tells us, it is IMPOSSIBLE to do good work in a fatigued state. We should stop glorifying the concept of not “needing” sleep.
*It is difficult to do, but our less than perfect aspects of ourselves are a part of who we are. Life is messy.

I have a lot of work to do to get this blog to where I want it to be (working on getting more readers would be a good start), but I’m glad I just jumped in the pool.
