Cake

I'm experimenting with cake recipes this week, because my birthday is rapidly approaching and I need to create the perfect cake. Cake #2 is cooling on the rack right now, and I think it might be the one, as in the most excellent cake ever. My whole house is filled with the intoxicating scent of delicious fluffy vanilla buttermilk cake, which is why I'm posting on Ning, because I need to exercise self control and let the cake cool so that I can make frosting for it before I try a slice.

Recipe to follow, assuming that this cake tastes even 30% as good as it smells.
