Like many gamers, I heartily enjoyed the Playstation 2. It was a great system which brought forth many superb games and experiences over the years. Probably one of the last gaming experiences I will remember for PS2 would be Final Fantasy XII... which I quickly transferred to my PS3 (those of you gamers playing on newer PS3s will lose out on that backwards compatibility thing, so don't worry about it).
Glory be to the PS3, but today we speak of the PS2.
***It's time has come***
It's not time to milk it for all it's worth. It's not time to relive the good old days and keep a great thing going. It's time to pack it up move on and don't look back. Backwards compatibility has already been axed with new PS3s and with PSP still holding it's own, there's nothing left but to realize that the PS2 is holding us back.
Why? It's success is not a reminder or inspiration but a hindrance to future success.
It's a bloody crutch. To the clearance piles with it!
In fact- do put that guy on clearance. It needs that 'no longer en vogue' splash of appeal to clear it out faster. Take a hint from Nintendo here (sorry, they do some stuff really well), phase out the old guy and let people see the only good option is the only one available - the new one!
TRULY usher in the future for Playstation.
Ok, Sony? Do it. I have faith in you.
We are standing by to make it a great send off.
Taps and flowers.
