Bernie Company Search

Warning! Long post alert!

Many of us would think it a big deal if we owned one company. People who own two companies are thin on the ground. Bernie Ecclestone (and by implication CVC) owns lots of companies - so many I think I've lost track of some of them.

Some of Bernie's companies are probably in the wild, in their natural habitat of boardrooms in London and Jersey. They will most likely be accompanying humans in extremely expen…

Sushi & Racism

We went to spread the joy of Sushi at a historic mansion that is rumored to be haunted. The place is called Shiro, it's a hidden gem. Here we are trying to get Cat to try a California Roll. She actually did try it but it was a difficult sell. We still managed to have a lovely evening trying other delecasies.

This prince-less princess is fine

This prince-less princess is fine By Helena Oliviero The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Thursday, September 04, 2008 Girls adore a good princess tale. The bouffant gowns. The prince. The happily-ever-after. It’s all make-believe, of course, but the pressure to meet a real-life prince —- even for grown, fiercely independent women, can be too much, says Susan Johnston, a former Delta Air Lines flight attendant who worked for the airline for almost 20 years. Johnston, who is 42 and single, has trav…

£4.21

I learned today that the library authority I work for spends £4.21 on libraries for every visit made to them.
It made me wonder how much motorsport could buy per viewer using that method. However, I don't have any reliable recent figures for worldwide viewers (particularly since under this model each separate session watched would count as another "visit"). So I had a bit of a laugh finding out how far £4.21 would go. It would be possible to get:

There was a hound dog laying in the yard and an old geezer in overalls was sitting on the porch. ''Excuse me, sir, but does your dog bite?'' a tourist asked. The old man looked up over his newspaper and replied, ''Nope.'' As soon as the tourist stepped out of his car, the dog began snarling and growling, and then attacked both his arms and legs. As the tourist flailed around in the dust, he yelled, ''I thought you said your dog didn't bite!'' The old man muttered, ''Ain't my dog.''

My message to people with religious messages.

Thank you for your message about your Gods word. I wish you love and peace.
If you want to get a better handle on truth, and have an awakening you may have to reconsider the traditional religious word of god message.

I have discovered an evil agenda behind religion which is keeping the people spiritually divided around this beautiful earth, just as an evil one would like it. If you want to preach truth I would teach my brothers and sisters that the true spiritual…

Well, finally a post that fits the month's theme of "hot" - hot tempers! Leash-training update

Was too tired to blog the past couple of nights... and my new work e-mail filter blocks NaBloPoMo.

I decided to take back the harness I was trying to use on Murray. It was a dog harness, and just not made for a cat's physiology - the straps were too wide and rigid, making it like a straitjacket for him. But standard cat harnesses were too small for my big boy. So, I posed a query on some cat discussion Web sites about where to find extra-large cat harnesses, and several people recommen…
