I couldn't agree more. Our English Bulldog has the magical ability to annoy me in less than 0.2 seconds, and yet I would much rather hang out with her than a lot of people. Then there's our Lhasa Apso, who I like more than, well, most people. We're also not obsessed, but we do like our dogs.
My dog (he's a plott hound) is a trouble maker, but he's soooo cute. By trouble maker I mean things like ... he eats light bulbs (and survives!). Crazy dog. :)
Actually, I can't really say Woof - and neither can my dogs. I have basenjis, and I adore them. My two boys are more like cats. Aloof, independent, and they clean themselves like cats. They sort of yodel, or sometimes say "Barooooo!" But no woofs in my house.
Is that so wrong?? Don't JUDGE ME! :)
Here's the intro to my dogs. The black one went to the Rainbow bridge last Spring... but the other two are still yodeling away...
My dog is sometimes referred to a "cat in a dog suit", so I can understand your un-dog like Basenjis. Nellie is a Shiba Inu mix (we don't know what else), but she is oddly cat like. I love her nonetheless. She does exhibit some dog behavior, though - like wanting to kill every squirrel she meets. That's my girl!
I share my life with two dogs ; a beagle and a German Shepherd cross. They are my fur-kids and I am at my most peaceful when I am just chilling out with the two of them.

i have a cockapoo mutt, george. or konig georg. or shiteater. or mr. weapons of ass destruction (he can clear a room). he is my avatar. he's old, deaf, loyal, lazy, mostly toothless, a portable heater, a constant companion, a beggar, so glad to see me when i get home, a vicious man-eating beast when we play...and i could go on. oh, and he doesn't shed. or chew on stuff. just licks. everything.
No you are not wrong. There are good reasons to like to spend your time with a dog. A dog accepts you for who you are. Most people do not have this gift. A dog has talents that people do not have. For example: My dog (Roscoe Pekoe Train) can remove the tube from the toilet paper while the tube is on the roller! He can do this without doing a lot of damage to the toilet paper. He has been refining this practice for about four years now whenever he gets a chance and someone leaves the bathroom door open.
Sign me up! I like my dog better than the vast majority of people out there. But what's not love? He's sweet, faithful and utterly devoted. He also happens to be really freakin' cute.
That is not wrong at all. Dogs are so much more loving and forgiving than people, so of course we like them better than most!!! I am a mom of two boxers that my husband and I absolutely adore.
I have two Boston Terriers, Zeus and Tank. I love them both to pieces and couldn't imagine not having either. My husband often tells me I need to quit humanizing the dogs! Just can't help myself... they are my babies!
Fur-kids! I love it! I've had my little Rootie for almost 6 years now, and she is definitely my best bud. When I come home and scoop her up into my arms, I can feel the stress drain from my shoulders. That 5 lb poodle is the Best. Dog. Ever. (Well...y'know. 'Cept for your dog) :-)
