National Blog Posting Month

Where have you wandered?

Hey,

My name is kyle and I'm excited about this month. I also think this is a fun group. I thought it would be cool to do a roll call to say where we live or list an exotic location we've visited.

I live in northwest China.

I'm doing some traveling for the first two weeks (now) and will be settling down in a bit and taking some intensive spanish classes. It's been an intense couple of days, getting used to getting around here but it's also been exhilirating.

oh yeah...i've also spend three months in europe, traveled to every state and province of canada, and parts of central and south america. i can't sit still.

What city in China is that and what brought you there.

I visited Beijing for twelve days this summer. I'm trying to photoblog every day for this month. You can find my blog at China Sights.

Hey Kyle and everyone, my name is Julie and I am addicted to travel!
Great that you mention China because I think I'm going there next summer (as part of a student travel program). This past summer we went to Australia, which I adored and where I would love to live. Additionally, I've been to many places in Europe, including Prague, Amsterdam, and the Pelopponese in Greece. My favorite place on the planet so far in Paris (I've been five times, I think), although Athens and the Whitsundays are close behind.
I live in NYC, USA.

Hey everyone,

I'm a travel addict as well. I went to grad school in the UK, so had the opportunity to visit a lot of places in Europe. My main travel interest is the former USSR, but I'm up for going anywhere and would love to visit China and Japan someday. I'd say the strangest place I've visited so far was Chernobyl.

I'm Rachel...I'm in college in North Carolina, but I've spent the past three summers living in Greece taking classes and working at a University in Athens.
I've been all through Europe and the US as well.

When the word "exotic" is used, I imagine fragrant orchids and jungle noises. So... Ghana doesn't count (although it does have a rain forest), neither does Iceland, so I guess I'll say "Belize"...

And I'm from NJ. Conveniently located near 5 international airports.

I think this is such a terrific idea for a group! Hi guys, my name is Libby and I just arrived in Hong Kong last Friday. The last time I was in China was 2005 when I took a graduate course in Shanghai. I can't believe the contrasts between mainland China and its "Special Administrative Regions". If anyone has any Hong Kong tips I would love to hear them, I'm here through Sunday.

Some of my other favorite travel locations are Turkey, Hungary and the Greek islands.

Hi y'all,

I currently live in exotic Norfolk, VA (hehe), just moved here after 10 years in Phoenix and grew up in Louisiana. We always travelled growing up. Dad was born in Scotland and we went there as kids. I've been to 46 of the states (I've got the two tough ones, HI and AK). The next big trip is our Spring trip...deciding between a few places...Paris and Amsterdam or Norway. I've been to Paris and Amsterdam, but not Norway. My BF is new to traveling and we went on our first big trip this Spring to Prague, Krakow & Rome, and it was fabulous!!

I really want to explore Asia and S. America.

Hi there!

My name is Abby and I live in Los Angeles.

The most exotic location I've visitied is probably Heron Island in the Great Barrier Reef back in 2004. It's basically an island in the middle of the reef made from dried-up coral and is two hours by boat from the mainland. The best thing about the island is being able to swim straight off the beach to see coral and marine life. Now that I am finally have my SCUBA certification I can't wait to come back and visit the 20 dive sites around the island.

I'm originally from the Philippines and have lived in San Francisco and Los Angeles. I've visited only six US states but have also traveled to Australia, Fiji, Canada, England, France, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Czech Republic, Hungary, the Netherlands, and Germany. I love to travel and am always looking forward to the next adventure. Next year I am planning to visit China and the Philippines.

Hi everyone! I'm TK, and I'm living in China, too (not Beijing, but not terribly far from there). I've traveled around a bunch in Europe, though this is my first time actually living outside America (though after almost two years living here, I suppose I can't claim that it's new to me anymore). My most interesting trip this year has been to Mongolia (the country, not the province). It's an amazing place. Now, I know why the Mongols thought they could take over the world.

Let's see...
I was born in Japan, but we left before I remember. Then later on we lived in Germany for a time and it was my favourite thing because we got to wander through Europe so much. I'm stuck in America now, but I like to ponder moving back to Europe somewhere sometimes...
