Why Create? / Billion-dollar synth / new member intro

I create because I get something out of it. Yup, it's a me, me thing. That may sound selfish but I like to lay it out bare bones. I write because it gives me a sense of accomplishment to have done it. It just plain feels good. And I don't mind going one further and saying I would like to make money with my art. I don't think it's a sin. I've caught some major flak in the past for not having high enough ideals. If someone can get anything out of my writing, be it information that is helpful or just plain entertainment I think that fulfills my debt to society thingee a lot of folks have going. I am not going to save the world, I won't find the cure for cancer and I won't stop world hunger. I'm just going to do what I'm doing 'cause that makes me a better person, and that's good enough for the world. All those folk who expect more will just have to get along without me.

I suppose it's nice to have an obtainable goal, but I have to defer-- I believe your reach should always exceed your grasp.
