whilst I seem to have a fast net connection I thought I'd upload this one. it was taken earlier this year, I forget the date - sometime between feb-june I'd say. I was in Auckland, New Zealand. a couple of guys from work came on a driving trip and I wasn't driving so took the opportunity to take some video. it's a little bumpy and I haven't edited it, but Corromandel is such a beautiful part of the world I wanted to keep it as is. it's sooo laid back there. we found a nice little gallery / store and it turns out the girl who owns it was originally from Brisbane. Australians.. what can I say.. they get around and find the good spots!! :)
the music is from my ipod playing through the radio in the car.
(getting in early in case I'm working back again tomorrow night)
Looked at a map - Corromandel appears to be near the middle of the fish tail. What a lovely drive. Like everywhere I've been on the North Island, it's here a sheep, there a sheep, everywhere a sheep sheep! I must visit that area now! From the look of the fern fronds, I'd guess you were closer to February than to June. I seem to remember them just starting to unfurl in June-July.
just checked flickr - it was 22/04/2007 - was too tired to think of that last night! I think I spelt it wrong too - it might be Coromandel. yes it's the peninsular to the right on the North Island - there's also a town called Coromandel also on the peninsular. I probably have a gps track of it or some of it somewhere. you can see Auckland across the water from parts of it. a beautiful drive. this was only half of it. the other side has amazing mountains - I did that on another couple of trips in 2005 when I was there longer. once you get out of Auckland the views everywhere are amazing. I didn't make it to South Island but apparently that's like a whole other world and is even more breathtaking in it's scale. I love the fern fronds! - they make me think I'm walking with the dinosaurs as some species are ancient
Thought I'd get this one up nice and early since I have a LOT of non-computer-related work to do tomorrow, as you can see in Day 13's video. Anyone want to come upstate and give me a hand?
Landed a gig vlogging for a local Jersey community site, Baristanet.com. Here's my latest video about some local geese problems. I post it on NAVLOPOMO to share the news: I now video blog for a living. Wow.
Wheee! Congrats on the gig! Love the video and the interviews. G-Tech? Seriously? Is it wrong for me to laugh at such a thing? Because that's pretty funny.
Geese and their endless pooping are only a problem because geese are not very tasty. You think there'd be a goose problem if goose tasted like bacon? I assure you there'd a Montclair Goose Festival every year if geese were tasty. But they're not. They're greasy and gamey and weird. And the poop a lot.
Geese are indeed handsome animals. But they're basically really, really big pigeons. With bad attitudes and big poopies.
I love that videoblogging lets me rant about stuff like goose doodoo.
I've been posting every day, but things have been entirely too crazy to keep up with posting links as well, but they are all posted here on NaBloPoMo on my page, as well as on http://funnytheblog.blogspot.com/. The latest video is from the memorial for my friend Michele, which happened yesterday. It can be found here: http://funnytheblog.blogspot.com/2007/11/navlopomo-day-13.html Tomorrow's video will have the music that my kids performed during the formal part of the afternoon (my kids are professional musicians).
