NaBloPoMo

National Blog Posting Month

I started this group basically because I didn't see another I fit in. Though I've been blogging for 2 years I'm not a techno-wizard, my blog doesn't have bells and whistles, i don't pontificate on anything of an earth shattering nature, but i do like writing my thoughts down, finding out if others share them, reading cool, funny blogs and being a bit envious of really cool blogs.

I'm glad you started this because I feel the exact same way. I always see all these beautifully done blogs and think, if only... But I have no idea how to do anything and I'm terrified to mess with the template. In fact, I don't even know how to link to my blog from here and only recently did I figure out how to add pictures, but I can only do it one way or it screws up the alignment of the words and I want to attack the computer. But if you'd like to read my really boring, non-bells and whistles blog you can at: www.widelawns.blogspot.com
See, I've seen some people use real links in comments and I can't even do that. You'll have to copy and paste, I guess.

Hi! This group just kinda jumped out at me. Technology has moved ahead much faster than I could keep up with. I still don't know what blue tooth means or the difference between HD and BluRay. I do get blog envie. LOL I wish I could write as witty and be as interesting as soem blog I read, but I am who I am. So here I am.

Nice to "meet" you both.

Awesome, i'm glad i found this little group. I'm a first time "NabloPomo" user and i'm still getting kinda used to it. I've been blogging (& enviously lurking other 'pretty' blogs) since 2005. Thanks for making this group!

First time NaBloPoMoer. I am one of those bloggers that seem to be slowly scraping the surface of the technology available to bloggers. Every time I tackle a piece of HTML I get way too excited.

I'd love to be able to write html code, to make widgets, and do a lot of cool things, but I have to admit I'm not that much of a techie.

I still haven't figured out word press and need to as my web designer put my main website there and I've yet to figure out how to upload my book covers. Oi!

You know, I thought a lot about blogging for a while before I started searching the web for some info. About a year ago I started one at blogger/blogspot but really didn't get into it. Mostly because I really didn't have the passion for writing on the topic I thought I was so interested in. A couple of weeks ago, I got the urge again. I looked at blogger again, and I looked at Wordpress and I started one there. I was kind of fired up during the election, with no one to talk to, so I thought I'll just put my thoughts out into the universe and see what happens. At least I can get it out of my head. That's why I love to blog. I can have my say - even if no one else ever looks at it.

Anyway, what I like about wordpress is that it is very user friendly. A lot easier than blogger. Plus, I couldn't seem to find a page in blogger that shows the different blogs and other bloggers. What's up with that? At wordpress, you loginto a front page, that has different blogs, and you can easily search for any topic you're interested in. Maybe you can do that in blogger, but everytime I went there to log in it just has the page to sign up, even after I log in. I now have 4 blogs at wordpress.com and I just set up a private family blog. I'm addicted.

What's fun about nablopomo is that it's almost like a forum, but it's also like a conversational blog. It's fun to see the different groups where bloggers congregate and share there thoughts.

To Ashley:

About uploading the bookcovers. There is a little tool bar above the tool bar where you write your post. That's where the insert photo icon is. If you roll your pointer over the icons, it should have a little description. Click on that and a popup will appear in the middle of the page, and you either browse your computer to locate the file you want to upload, or you can provide a url where it might be on another website. At the bottom of this window you select the position you want it in and click to insert it into the post. Job done. Something I discovered by accident was that it seems that it inserts the image in one of three positions (left, right or center) at the point where you place your blinking cursor.

Hope this helps.
