National Blog Posting Month

American Sentences

One thing we could do as part of our poeting in November is write American Sentences. It's a form Allen Ginsberg created that is similar to haiku in that it has 17 syllables. But it's all on one line and the rhythm and subject matter are uniquely "American" sounding. There's a page on my blog that talks about this form and links to a blog with loads of information about the form. They are easy, fast, fun and are great writing practice. I forgot to write mine yesterday. I always feel bad when I forget. That's how "into" them I am.
