Poetry and copyright violations, an open discussion

I just posted on my blog about poetry and copyright violations. I know people have a lot of feelings around copyright laws and that people interpret the laws differently. Also, laws vary from country to country. I know it's not November yet, but I thought I'd throw this out there as a topic for discussion.

Does anyone have any concerns or opinions about copyright laws: either with sharing other people's work or with sharing your own work online?

Yeah, because I have been known to eff up some teachers who didn't give my poems the most effusive praise.

Yes, I have a poet friend who won't publish on the net at all ...someone down the comment list said they feel the same - I sympathize with that view point and don't see it as arrogant - more determined to be published and rightfully nervous!

I am so nervous that I have set up a blog but am cautious about sharing it!! Sooooo why create the blog in the first place if noone is reading it!!

Feline, could you talk about poetry and your submission/writing processes on the blog and maybe password protect any poems you share ~ or wait to share them until they have been published somewhere else?
