Oh yeah--my story goes like this: Informal and cozy grad student dinner at our major professors' house. Oenophile professor offers me just a wee bit too much fancy schmancy red wine. I came home happy and ready for bed without a care in the world...until 6:45 this morning when my eyes shot open and I said "Oh noes!" Then I consoled myself/rationalized that I wasn't in it for the NaBloPoMo prizes anyway.
Mine was the worry that I'd had leading up to the month...
Problems with my 'puter, and internet in particular.
My computer and I have been havign a bad realtionship this year, i's decided to die on me a few times, but I perservered with it (because heck I can't afford one, and well I like some it's quirks). So after a few overhauls of wiping the system clean (and losing some stuff in the proccess, which I have forgiven it for) we were back on an ok realtionship.
Until a few weeks ago, when my internet connection started going a little squirly. Still I put it down to our rocky realtionship, and dutifully put up with it, knowing we'd iron out the kinks.
That is until saturday night, when it comepletely died on me. Sunday was spent mostly trying to get stuff working again (I'm not the brightest of folks when it comes to this, I can change plugs and lightbulbs, put up shelves. Don't really understand the intricacies of puters and tinternets).
We do have other computers in the house (like this laptop which I've kind of kidnapped from me mother for a while) but after going on sunday pm and being sick of looking at my puter which seemed ot be mocking me by working perfectly apart from the internet, I missed out on blogging on one of my blogs. Then I missed another one another night (tuesday it may have been). Oh and I forgot to blog at one (The first day!!!) but still three posts (perhaps four) isn't all bad I guess.
And I'm still here despite the fact that I've missed days. I will perservere. I'm not in it for the prizes, I'm in it to see if I could do it. I've never been a regular blogger, but I think I may have bitten the bug and become slightly obsessoive about it now (although my blogs are random to say the least). I'm still pretty pleased with myself that I've continued on, and I felt a little dissapointd that I won't have a clean slate of 30 posts at the end of it (or 60 if I combine my two blogs).
wow sorry for the long post, I do tend to blether on sometimes
Good luck with the rest of the month all...halfway there!!!
Reminder to self for next year: If you are disciplined to enough to remember to log in on Saturday, then PUT YOUR POST UP FIRST THING AND DO NOT FLIT AROUND ON OTHER PEOPLES BLOGS AND LOG OFF WITHOUT POSTING YOURS.

mwahahaha, i knew there had to be a group like this!
my thing is, i post at night, when i'm done with the day, and sometimes, my posts end up on the worng day because i don't get to bed 'till around 2am. so some days there's 2 posts, and others there are none.

My story goes like this...
Last Saturday (Nov. 10), the chorus I belong to held a benefit to raise money for a trip we are taking next year. By the time we got done with that, grabbed a bite to eat, I collected my child from Grandpa's and got him into bed, it was 12:30 and I was a zombie. I opted for sleep. How selfish of me! Sleep instead of blogging? Jiminy!
I posted on the 14th, and unbeknownst to me, my time settings on my blog were incorrect, so it said it was 12:47am, when in all actuallity, I posted it at 11:47 CST. Sigh. So, it shows that I missed a post on my calendar, but I SO did not. For the love of cheese!!
thankyou for inspiring me with my quote of the day for tommorow
'For the love of cheese'
I shall enjoy using it! So cool!
I think you can be excused for not blogging, although it may have been an interesting post, when one is zombiefied who knows what comes out of our heads onto the keyboards!
I think one of my posts was the wrong time on it so it didn't look like it had been posted on the day it had been posted, but I didn't notcie this until days later and it had me confuzzled for a while. I let it slide this time, but if it happens again me and the clock will be having words!
Work. Every day I have missed is because I had to work a closing shift. I don't have one of those nice jobs where I get paid to play on the internet, therefore when I'm at work, I can't blog.
Real life gets in the way of blogging. That's not fair.
Nearly missed another blog today. I was out at church all morning, got home and ended up going straight out again to meet friends for coffee. Was out with them all afternoon, make it home for something to eat early evening and then ended up going out again tonight to meet some other friends. Ended up staying out until 11.30pm!
So I came on my comp to work on a fanfic I'm busy on and look at the time thinking, hmm, there's something I need to be doing. Picture the scene:
*lightbulb*
Blogs!
*looks at clock*
11.51
*me*
eeep!!
My PC is still without internet connection so I had to turn the laptop on, get online and write two blogs posts in the space of five minutes to get them posted before midnight! I mean ok technically I've failed the task already having already missed posts, but still I'm striving to keep as many posts as I can going.

I don't have home internet, and my blogging partner is lazy. So I forgot to write a post after being bogged down with tests and just wanting to go home. My lazy partner did not appreciate it, and decided to do what he does best- be lazy. I tried to compensate the second time by having a post already written up for him to simply click Publish on. Couldn't even accomplish that :P And then there were two.
