How long have you been writing online?

I have been writing online since before there were blogs. I had an official journal since 2000, and wrote a weekly update for a couple years before that.

1996 was when I started my online journal at Angelfire (is that free hosting company even still around?). In 1999 I purchased modernprincess.com and that eventually became a blog. I quit in 2002, shortly after my 5 year old was born. At the end of 2003 I reopened modernprincess.com and have been going ever since.

Sometimes I regret the fact that I never saved the archives from 1996 - 2002. It would have been cool to read/see the transformation I went through those many years.

I started in 1996, the thirty-first of March. I didn't go daily until sometime in October, though, but since then I've had daily entries. And for the last four years or so, almost daily haikus, for what that's worth, heh.

I began blogging on Xanga about 7 years ago.
I started there, because I found my first recognizable blog there.
The Internet came into my life in late '98, and I had a couple of homepages where I posted some of my writing.
So that's a little over 8 years. Wow

I've been blogging since August of 2000. For about a year prior to that I was a staff member writing for an e/n site, and I also kept a regularly updated "What's New" page about my music that was a sort of proto-blog. However, my first regular internet writing started almost immediately when I first got online in 1996 - I wrote for and edited a online fan fiction group for Final Fantasy 2.

Hey, we must have started at the same time. My first entry was March 20, 2000. I have updated daily (with very few exceptions) since then.

I remember creating my first account on diaryland in 2001. I've since moved around since then and taken breaks in writing (I started doing it for work and found that I didn't want to write in my free time too). I started my current one to chronicle my knitting and have since turned it into everything-blog.

I started blogging about two years ago. My current blog is less than half a year old, though. (My former web host was a total nightmare.)

Before that, I'd been on forums and whatnot for close to a decade, which is sort of like blogging, but...not.

September 25, this year I put up my first website. It was kind of scary to be honest. Talking to people and discussing things with them on forums and places like hta just isn't the same as starting up your own website. This is my first attempt at a blog. I've fallen off a bit.

I made my first decent website in 1995, partly using the now-ancient Apple QuickTake 100. Although I probably haven't missed being online more than a week since I first got hooked, I didn't start blogging until last year-- I was always much more active on various forums, e-mail lists, etc...

I officially started a journal online February 17, 2001. My in-laws were going to be in town and I needed a place to vent! *LOL* It's been a great journey since then!
