By now, we all know it's "excuse me while I kiss the sky" not "kiss this guy" and it's "there's a bad moon on the rise" not "there's a bathroom on the right", right?

Share one or 2 of your own misheard lyrics!

I thought 'Big ol Jed had a light on' - apparently, it's 'big ol jet airliner'

Whatever! ;)
This should be fun...

blinded by the light...crept up like a douche another rudder in the night...

Oooh, good one!
That song has so many weird lyrics...did you know it was written by Bruce Springsteen?!

my husband has the original version...i just found that out, right this second. i think that, maybe, i did know he wrote it.

I would sing, "wrapped up like a douche," but I'd sort of mumble it, because I knew that could not possibly be correct.

I also thought that Tom Petty was saying, "She likes cheeses..." instead of "She likes Jesus..." in Freefallin'. Oops.

and, i just figured it was 'wrapped up like a douche" so i would belt it out, my bad voice and all.
hilarious...cheeses! hil.ar.i.ous.

I guess I was projecting, because I, for one, do love cheeses---and I'm not so much into the Jesus.

I can't make out any of John (Cougar) Mellencamp's lyrics. In "Little Pink Houses", I would sing along:

"Hey Darling, I remember when you could blah blah blah" I seriously thought he just couldn't come up with a rhyme and threw in 'blah blah blah'

My husband informed me it was "Stop a clock" D'oh!

Margaritaville - I always thought he was singing, "But I know...it's my own Grandpa". For years I sang it like this. Sometime during the teenage years I was set straight.

And my husband? During Crazy Train, I caught him singing, "Crazy, but that's how it goes, millions of people living as oooone." "Living as one? No, honey, it's living as FOES!" He didn't believe me. He was a much bigger Ozzy fan than me, so how could he possibly be wrong? I was right, of course, and I tease him about it to this day. We can't listen to the song without him mumbling, "Shut up!" I don't even have to say a word and he tells me to shut up, because he knows I"m still laughing at it. Can you blame me?

I am terrible about mishearing lyrics. One of my NaBloPoMo posts was about misheard lyrics, although that one was in a French song.
