today is no music day. a day dedicated to avoiding all music prior to celebrating the joys of music tomorrow on st. cecilia's day (22 nov).

after a day of musical abstinence what piece of music would you break your fast with?

I've already broken the fast. T. Rex was responsible. I had to get it on, I had to bang my gong.

I didn't know about No Music Day. I've been in the kitchen today cooking, and I like to have music on when I do that. But if I did know and if I did participate, the first music I played the next day would be some jazz. Right now I'm a Max Roach mood so that's who I would listen to.

yes, not being able to listen to my favorite cooking music may put a damper on my thanksgiving cooking frenzy tonight.

very interesting choices. i haven't made a choice of what will break my fast and i don't really have any music cravings yet.

i hope other weigh in with their opinions.

I'd never heard of this day either. I suppose for those that celebrate St. Cecillia's Day, then this make sense, but I'd never even heard of 'that', and certainly wouldn't randomly give up my music for it, heh. I hope those who 'are', have fun with it!

Did you hear about New Orleans' oldest jazz musician dying, monkey? Surely that's an occasion to play music today, because even the angels are weeping.

Forget that! No TV day I can understand, but music is as necessary as water to living. I observed it by listening to as much music as possible. Bad Granny!
