Hi All,
I used NaBloPoMo as a time to post to my normal blog every day. Is this kosher? Was I supposed to be blogging on my NaBloPoMo page instead? (Along those lines, is there a page of rules somewhere that I missed?)
It's been running for almost 14 months, and while I do post often, this may well be the first time I posted every day for a month. I am happy with that.
I am curious as to how many others posted here, and how many of you kept up your own old or new blogs?
I have been blogging on my personal blog (which will be one year old in a few days - yay) with a few posts and comments on this website. This is definitley the most I have ever posted which is every day in November except the one day I got locked out of the house. :(
Can I get a pass for that one???
The entire purpose was to blog on your own blogs. Last year, there was no social networking site like this and it was simply set up as a place for the bloggers to get together (and as a means to try to get everyone listed in one place). You weren't required to post here, by any means, and it was definitely expected for you to blog at your place (although some chose to do it here, too, or instead of, but it wasn't necessary).
I echo QuirkyJessi's point that blogging to your own blog is definitely valid.
There are rules, but they are pretty simple:
1) 1 post every day through November.
2) Indicate where you are posting (you will already have done this during your registration for the NaBloPoMo group).
3) Check your e-mail in the early days of December in case you have won one of the prizes - winners are randomly selected from those who followed points 1 and 2.
I am one of the people who posted to their own blog and then cross-posted to this social networking system as well.
Erin, sorry to hear that you got locked out of the house. I remember there was a prize last time for a randomly-selected person to have an unusually good excuse for missing a NaBloPoMo posting day, but I don't know if anything like that will apply this year.
Thanks for your words Allianora and nobugs! Next year I will make sure I know how to blog from my phone just in case something like this happens again (but let's hope it doesn't)
Update on the key situation. My lovely husband got 3 house keys made for me. I have put them on my car key rings so if I have a car, I have a key to the house. That should solve the "getting locked out and losing NaBloPoMo" problem. :)
Tonight when I came home I used my new key to get in and my husband immediately gave me a big smile and thumbs up.
