NaBloPoMo

National Blog Posting Month

Will you continue posting every day after NaBloPoMo?

I'm just wondering if if NaBloPoMo has helped you make it a habit to post every day and if you plan on keeping it up. If not, do you think you'll be increasing from what your standard posting rate was? What do you think is a reasonable target? For my part, I have more than one blog and post every day, several times a day, so if anyone wants to read me, you can find me here: http://fromsmilerwithlove.blogspot.com

I'm new here and I joined because I enjoyed reading a member's daily posts. I hope members continue to write daily or almost daily. I think I might just be ready to begin writing seriously and regularly. I am apprehensive. I'm just a wannabe who recognizes quality writing but an ability to know what is quality isn't the same as producing it. Anywhoo, I'm here. Let's see what happens.

The great thing about blogging is it can take so many forms, and you can choose to adapt your blog to your strengths. As for writing, not everyone who has a blog is a great writer necessarily. Some are competent and manage to make their blogs entertaining, informative and fun to visit. You just have to do what you love!

No way! I've been doing NaNoWriMo simultaneously, and I'm all written out for awhile. Instead of short daily posts, I'm going to revert to my normal epic bi-weeklies, I think. This has been fun, but I feel limited by it somehow.

No, I definitely won't. I kinda like having the same post up for a couple days....I tend to put more time and effort into each post if I know it'll be seen a bit longer (of course it'll be in my archives and on the front page for a few days, but newer visitors don't always stay beyond the first post or two). Other times, I like posting several short things in one day....and by focusing on making sure I had one every day, I always made myself wait, instead of posting when I wanted to. I may continue to post a little bit more frequently, but as a whole, I prefer a few days a week instead of making sure I do it every single day.

You have a point. It's true that sometimes when I put up a post I've worked on for some time, like a short story or something that required a lot of research, then I want to leave it in "top billing too" and I will wait a couple of days before posting again sometimes. I find it difficult thought because there's always something I want to be blogging about.

Yup, I've been posting daily on this ain't livin' for almost two years now, and I don't see any reason to stop any time soon. I'm also going to try and keep posting a new photo or two every day on six:fourteen. Although I do have respect for people like QuirkyJessi who try to put serious thought into a few posts a week; I'd rather read a few great posts than daily drivel.

I don't know!

I had a few days this month when I just slapped something on the blog to keep up with NaBloPoMo, and that's not worth doing if I don't have to. I am in the habit of writing quickly, which I like, so I think I can keep up a good pace after Nov 30, but I won't post just "anything" for the sake of a daily post.

I'd like to tell all my favorite bloggers out there that if they don't keep up posting frequently I will be disappointed! I have discovered some great blogs this month and I plan to have more time to visit them after NaBloPoMo, so keep on keeping on!

I don't KNOW! I would like to think I will continue to blog like a maniac, but there were definitely days where time was a factor. I always have plenty to say, but not always the time to put it into anything constructive.

I will continue to post often though.

Not every day. No ma'am. Before this, I was lucky to write a blog entry once a month. I was also lucky to write fiction once a month - and I did this and the NaNoWriMo thing, got all fired up about writing again, and came up with a master plan, which I posted in my blog yesterday.

I learned a few things about myself from this mad enterprise: I am capable of writing every day, I'm capable of writing fiction for at least half an hour every day - even with kids at home making noise - but I dig my heels in and take days off when faced with an actual deadline (as evidenced by a week-long vacation I took from my NaNo novel fairly early on) as opposed to just "Hey, write something every day!"

Right now, I'm just going to work on keeping up with writing every day. It might be blogging, it might be fiction, it might be something else entirely. I haven't decided how I'll approach it, but I know for sure I won't be trying to blog on weekends anymore. It's easy to get online during the week, but I have to bribe my husband to log off World of Warcraft for 15 minutes on weekends (or wake up early/stay up late so I can snag the connection while he's unconscious). :P

Yes, I think I might continue with one a day, or at least aim for that. I've been focussing more one one topic in my life at a time, which I think is better than a long-winded ramble about four or five topics once or twice a week (which was my previous style).

I'm actually on my 42nd day in a row (gloat!) and now that I'm in the habit I'd prefer not to stop, it's addictive.

I do not know if it will be a daily thing, but I do plan on blogging a lot more than I have in the past. I actually found it was a good way to unwind some days. Even if my blog is not highly entertaining it gives me something to do.

Probably not. I do write rather regularly anyway but some days there just isn't anything interesting to write about- see my post Monday lol! It was fun while it lasted though.

I journal just about every single day. The problem I run into is that if I blog on line then my paper journal suffers. I do print and paste the entries in my paper journal but posting online is a whole different style of journaling for me. I do my best journaling with a pen in my hand, sitting by a window and being able to search the world as it goes by.

I used to write quite erratically - sometimes it would be nearly every day, other times you'd be lucky to get a post a week out of me. While I can't promise posts every day at this time (I'm stuck about what to say today, for instance), I think I can safely say there'll be new stuff on my blogs most days now.

I agree. It's helped me to post at least something everyday. I think I will be keeping this up. :)

Before NaBloPoMo, I posted Monday through Friday with the occasional weekend post. For December, I joined Holidailies so I'll be posting every day of the month this month too. After that, who knows. I may go back to 5 days a week or I might try and keep up 7. I like blogging. I think that if I didn't I'd lose my mind some days, lol.

i think i tend to dilute the effect of my blog when i post every day. i have a much greater tendency to post something that's not quite ready for consumption, or to post anything at all, just to get it over with. if i set a goal of, say, at least one solid post per week, i can rework and refine an entry for a couple of days before publishing it. i think this approach is a bit better for me.
