Favorite spot in Nor Cal...

So...to liven this place up a bit let's try this. What's your Fave spot in Nor cal? Could be an eating establishment, park, beach, store, road, trail...anything.

I'll start.

My absolute favorite place is Stinson Beach. I love the actual beach, of course, but also the town, the surrounding trails, the little motels...everything. Whenever we have a few free days we head to Stinson.

Bookbelle~

I totally agree about Pt. Reyes! We always drive through PT. Reyes Station and eat at the Station House Cafe on our way down to Stinson. It's a great drive...we come from Sacramento and enjoy every minute of it.

Yikes, I haven't been to most of those places!!!

I definitely love Sonoma...such an adorable square/town surrounded by gorgeous rolling vineyards. Napa is wonderful, too, of course...just so much more formal and stuffy.

Have you ever been to Safari West (technically in Santa Rosa, but just west of Calistoga)? Ah. Maze. Zing! We went last fall with the kids and I can't wait to go again.

Have to think about this...I have so many favorite places in Nor Cal. I love hiking in Armstrong Woods. It's so peaceful there. Bodega is pretty nice too and Gualala and the Mendocino and Sonoma Coast line. Stinson is also a great place to go. Of course, I'm a big city person too. That's the great thing about living here is there are so many places to go and things to do. I mean what don't I like about living here. I've driven by Safari West and have always wondered what it's like. I've heard it's pretty amazing. Have to try it sometime. I used to live in St. Helena in Napa and while it's a beautiful town I have to agree about the stuffiness (is that a word?) and prefer Sonoma County. One thing is for sure no matter where you go there's good food to be found! Linda
