Anyone Using Typepad?

I decided to try Typepad. I imported my Wordpress Blog to Typepad, but only a very small portion actually came through. It only brought posts from the first two months of the blog (May and June 2007). It also did not import all of the pages or comments. Has anyone else had this experience? Can you help me fix it? I put a help ticket in with Typepad, too. Thanks to anyone who can help!

Hey Yolanda, I decided to give up on Typepad. It imported one of my blogs, but my more important blog (the blog I wanted to expand) just would not come through. What I am doing instead is taking my Wordpress blog to a stand alone host. I think it may even be less expensive to do that than to pay for Typepad. Typepad's support was not very helpful, either. They told me to "break the Worpdress .xml file into smaller pieces and import it in pieces." HUH? I'm not a computer programmer so I canceled the account.

I like Wordpress best, but they do have a lot of restrictions. You may also want to look into a stand alone host. My brother is helping me. He registered my domain and now we just have pick a host. Good luck!!

Try again, maybe? I transferred my blog also this week, from Wordpress.COM (that's what you were using, right?) to Typepad. I actually transferred it twice, and both times it sent through every post (about 59, as I'd only had the Wordpress blog since January), set up the pages correctly, and all comments came through.

The way I did it: 1. Downloaded my Wordpress.com blog to my computer. 2. Went on Typepad and Imported, using Browse to find the file on my computer.

Same here. I have a wordpress.COM blog. I have a few, actually. The one that I REALLY wanted to import is almost a year old, has 258 posts, 10 pages (I think), and 950 comments. Typepad ONLY imported May 2007 and June 2007. It brought in 69 posts, 2 pages, and 41 comments. Pathetic.

I tried it with my wp.COM blog that I just created in January and it all came through. So, if the blog is old, Typepad can't seem to import it properly. I am going to stand alone hosting now. In the long run, that is less expensive than Typepad anyway. ;)
